What does this old saying mean?

"money, money, money - it's all they can think about."

It's not really that old... It's used to describe people who are greedy.

I think it means people base all their decisions in life about money and have money on the brain most of the time. Most people want to go to school, to get a job to make money. Alot of people date people for money and plan their futures based on incomes. Money makes the world go round is another proverb with a similar meaning money cause our problems but we can't live without it. These are just my opinions and I hope they help
