What do you think about Goal?

I just started a new position in the same department but selling a different line of cosmetics. This new line is the product of the well-known industry called “Estee Lauder.” It’s been a week since I moved to my new “home“. All of my co-workers asked me about what do I think about my new home, and I replied with a simple word, ” Nightmare”. You may be curious and ask me the reason why I have such a bad impression of it. Let me tell you of some stories and experiences since I changed positions.

First of all, I’d like to write about my counter manager. My co-workers call her “A company girl”, meaning that she follows every rule exactly as the company dictates and implements no changes on her own or allows any flexibility on her sales staff.

She is a negative person: always intense, nervous about the daily sale goal and line ranking. She checks the register every five minutes to find out other line’s sales results and puts pressure. On us to achieve more..She drives everyone crazy and never stops talking about the sales goal. We all know that to achieve the sales goal every day is very important. However, the question is how to achieve sales success every day and also have some enjoyment with one’s job.A job after all is only one part of your life, and some fun should be had during the work. The second question is how to keep a high level of motivation
for every beauty adviser to increase sales? Instead of just give them the high pressure, stress and burden.

Secondly, actually yesterday was the last day for the whole month day sales, our counter wants to be Number two in the department but the sales figures were very close compared with Lancôme. The coordinator of Lancôme came
to help them to build the sales. It seems everything is just about the numbers and the atmosphere was so tense that everyone fought over single sales to make the daily goal. To be honest, I completely lost motivation for selling. I just don’t appreciate this way of life. My philosophy is enjoying every minute of life including work, think about things in a positive way in order to achieve goals.
