Hi guys,

I'd like to talk about language learning.
What's the most difficult part in your language learning experience?
I think the writing skill is the hardest part. The answers are might different, someone thinks that will be communication skill; someone has a hard time to understand the language. Another people might say reading comprehensive skill is a tough part.

However, I believe that practice makes perfect.
The writing skill will be improved if you continue to practice.

What do you think? What's on your mind?

I feel that it is important to improve on writing. But a language is basically a medium of communication so I believe more in the need to speak and listen. The reading and writing can go as a secondary component to a language.

Definitely, language learning requires practice. It differs among individuals and some do learn it faster than others do.

I feel that usually, the listening comprehension skill is one of the hardest to attain. And the next difficult skill is that of attaining the ability to speak properly since some words do get ambiguous in meaning if they are wrongly accented. ^^

My writing skill is weak.I have never figured out the English grammar.
My Japanese is better than my English, but I am still struggling with the difficulties.

I think copying the right model is important. If you want to sound like a native, write like a native, and understand like a native, you have to find out what the natives read and listen to. Then you read and listen to the same things and you wind up with the same understanding that they have. If you pay close enough attention to authentic materials, you will develop an innate aesthetic for the language which will enable you to catch mistakes in your output (they will "feel" or "sound" wrong).

A lot of people don't get enough good input. A textbook is not at all authentic and contains very little material in the target language (it's mostly written in the language you already know).

I agree that practice is very important. Let's keep practicing.

I'd like to know what the natives read and listen to. I must learn how to think in English or in Japanese, but the problem is how to think in English?

The easy answer is the most difficult solution:
Get rid of everything in your life that is not in English.

Learning multiple languages is a bit difficult but possible. Try to learn something new, use it in writing, then in speaking. Read children's books and watch children's shows.
The most difficult part of learning depends on the language. Spelling is probably English's biggest challenge.
