Barbershop
In my neighborhood, there is a barbershop, of which seems not popular. The shop has a billboard rotating object that comprises of blue, red, white color stripes, the colors of French national flag, of which in Japan, indicates the shop as an old school barbershop.
The object originated from France by a surgeon who used the billboard for his hospital. A red stripe represents artery, a blue stripe is a vein, and a white stripe is a bandage. It has nothing to do with the concept of a barbershop, but an owner of a barbershop at the time adopted the billboard, and it is commonly seen and used all over Japan.
The low popularity of the store is not due to its style, but his poor hair cutting skills, but he tries to compensate the skills by providing other attractive services such as aroma facial massage, hand massage, and selling of rare classic coca cola in glass bottles.
I went to the store just to buy a bottle of coke for a joke. In addition to the cost of coke, he also charged me the cost of bottles as security, which ends up being 10 yen for each bottle, and he suggested me to bring them back so that I could receive my 10 yen back. He added that when I do, I should also get a haircut. I am not sure my thinning hair would help his business, so I would instead use the glass bottles for a flower vase in my room.
