I have some questions about a few expressions in Korean but it's quite tricky to solve them for just english speaker who doesn't know korean...... T_T I hope someone who can speak and understand Korean would help me......!

These are what I want to know for English..

1. ~라고 치부해버리다.

2. ~라서 인지 몰라도 (ex. 내가 학생이라 그런지 몰라도..)

3. ~할 수준도 안 되는데 --를 하려는 건 무리인 것 같다.

4. 이건 다른 차원의 문제다.

No need to accord word by word, just want these sentences to be understood properly in English... That's it!!!
Thanks for your help in advance. :)

  • These are what I want to know for in English..

  • ~라고 치부해버리다.
  • ~라고 치부해버리다. 치부 means to get rich? + 해버리다 = to get completely rich?? But that sounds strange.. umm you may need to explain this one a bit more for me to help you.

  • 내가 학생이라 그런지 몰라도..)
  • 내가 학생이라 그런지 몰라도..) = Even if [you] don't/didn't know that I'm a student. Both didn't and don't have an almost similar meaning here.

  • ~할 수준도 안 되는데 --를 하려는 건 무리인 것 같다.
  • ~할 수준도 안 되는데 --를 하려는 건 무리인 것 같다. I understand the sentence grammar here but it's very difficult to give you a translation without an example sentence ㅠ.ㅠ if you give me one I can translate it.

  • 이건 다른 차원의 문제다.
  • 이건 다른 차원의 문제다. Easy. This is a different kind/type of problem (차원 = dimension but we do not say this in this type of sentence)

You really have very natural sounding English writing! I can not feel like you are translating from Korean at all when you speak and if I didn't already know it I would not be able to guess that you are a Korean speaker! Great job. Anyway I did my best to translate for you but I couldn't translate a couple - the first one because I didn't know that expression and the 3rd one because even though I think I understood it there are several possible translations in English so I would need an example sentence to give you an accurate translation. I wish I could have helped you more!

Thank you very much for your corrections and comments on my last journal entry. I would also like to suggest that you read my blog in English for practice in reading, and maybe you'll be interested because it's about my efforts to learn Korean :o) check it out here: http://koreanasitis.wordpress.com

열심이 하세요 ^^

  • ~라고 치부해버리다.
  • ~라고 치부해버리다. to dismiss; to end up putting it down to (+ noun or gerund)

  • 내가 학생이라 그런지 몰라도..)
  • 내가 학생이라 그런지 몰라도..) It may be the fact that I am a student, but...

  • ~할 수준도 안 되는데 --를 하려는 건 무리인 것 같다.
  • ~할 수준도 안 되는데 --를 하려는 건 무리인 것 같다. It is not reasonable when he/she is not capable of doing ~
