She told me that the player was a violinist named Laurent Korcia who mainly played cinema music and famous for playing music in 'Cinema Paradiso', 'Mission Impossible' and so on.... and it was not a common chance to see him in our country.
I had no reason to refuse going there at all. Most of all, it was free! So I accepted her suggestion.

There is a program called "EBS Space 공감(sympathy)" that invites audiences for free from monday to friday. And there are practically no restriction about artists who perform there. From domestic/foreign top artists to totally unknown new faces. You can get to know(how can I express '접하다'? It doesn't mean 'touch', 'contact', or 'adjoin'......) artists you didn't know about through this program.
According to it, its purport(/draft?) is to try to sympathize with audiences through music whatever kind of it is.
They normally give artists two days to perform there and one of which is recorded for broadcasting, but not everytime.
You can apply an admission ticket on EBS site, but it's random to be chosed.
The reason I talked about it is because it was this program where she got invited to his concert.

Anyway I looked for some information about him before going there and could see many articles about his first visit to Korea. He's French and was chosen as one of the sexiest men alive by People in 2008. (haha he was really sexy.) And in one of article he mentioned that he was impressed by violinist Hyeon Soo Shin and movie director Gi Deok Kim and added he loved Korean food so wanted to have Real Korean food here.(I'm not sure if it's true but obviously good to hear.)
So the first impression toward him was great so I looked forward to his performance.

To make a long story short, his performance was really amazing. I hardly know about classic music and instruments but you know, real great performance moves people.
I enjoyed it very pleasedly, especially when he played with an accordionist.
It was such a beautiful and outstanding performance.. I loved it!
Is there anybody who knows and likes Laurent Korcia?

+ I have a few questions about how to express these.
1 "~에 푹 빠져있다", like "그녀는 ~하는 것에 푹 빠져있다."?
2 "구미가 안 당기다", like "난 (~~하는 것이) 별로 안 땡겨~."

At that time I was so impressed by the idea of those films that I deeply hoped that some kind of thing like that would happen to me as well.
But the idea that two strangers came to have some feeling with each other on the first sight and ended up spending time together hanging around a strange city is not an only thing that drawed my mind(=attracted me).
What actually made me love these films was in their meaningful conversations.
I think most romance films don't include philosophical and profound conversation between main characters directly like these.
(I'm not saying there aren't any other great romance films!)
Sometimes I'm getting sick of watching things about repeated and cliche love story without giving something that uplifts my mind in some way.
In that regard, I love their idea showing viewers main characters keeping talking about society, politic, woman, love and life as it is.
That's the way Richard Linklater (director of those films) makes films and shows them to us.

So, after a long time, I came across one of the greatest films, like a destiny (^^;) and looked for their screenplays on the internet to understand and keep in mind what they are saying on those lovely films, line by line. That's a great way to understand films far more deeply.
Also, since I'm studying English almost everyday, that's definitely great for my English study. It serves a double purpose, which is cool!

Many years ago, I actually prefered the previous one which looks more romantic, kind of miraculous and unrealistic. But not now. The following one is also unrealistic in regard to meet again in Paris nine years later. But it has more realistic factors than other one, which I lean toward these days..

Anyway, I have a lot of things to say about these films and main characters, Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawke...... but I'm done here..
Maybe next time, I will write some more about them..

+ I'd love to hear views on those films from those who love them or so and any recommendation about simliar films with these will be pleasedly accepted! :)

Almost every single piece of writing he made offers many helpful tools for studying languages and shows his insight towards it.

The one I read recently was to recommend readers (of his blog) to define the meaning of "fluency" in their minds.

What he means is if you don't have specific definition of fluency in your mind, it's far more difficult to reach a level of fluency.

To my mind, most people who study foreign languages would long to be fluent in speaking that language.

In that sense, according to what the blogger said, you are likely to be fluent enough when you know exactly what fluency means.

In retrospect, I'd just wanted to be fluent in English blindly without pondering about the way I have to study.

From now on, I have to define the meaning of fluency in my own way and set up the goal which is attainable on my present(current?) level.

In Ireland, abortion is not legalised, which forces many pregnant women who wanna have right to abortion to go out to other countries allowing abortion, with paying unnecessary expenses.

There are some cases that abortion needs to be allowed for women when their health or life itself and that of foetuses is imperilled.

But the Irish government stated that abortion ban has been admitted and passed through a couple of referendoms and it has been so deep-rooted cognizance that cannot be changed easily. (I feel this second part looks quite awkward in terms of the natural flow of sentence.... please help me out!)

Nevertheless, many organisations and lobbyists that are related to the right of women and abortion approval have been expressing complaints and redress incessantly about this draconian law.

The stakes on this matter is getting higher for all of Europe so people are showing interests in which change would be followed in the course of time.

A few days ago, a friend of mine came to London with her friends, which was the first destination of their euro-trip.
Recently I have been missing my friends and family in Korea, so when I heard of her traveling to Europe, I was really pleased!!!!
We were planning to go to Portobello market which became famous for the movie titled Notting Hill.
Unfortunately, I got up too late to go there with them.
So we rearranged when we would meet and finally met them around Piccadilly Circus.
I couldn't believe that I was facing one of my best friend in London and didn't feel like we hadn't met for ages.. which felt a bit weird.

We were supposed to see the musical The Phantom Of The Opera so went to the theatre to book tickets.
Usually, if you're a student and have a student id card, you can get a student discount. Or if you go to a theatre an hour before a performance, you can get a ticket for discounted price.
Unfortunately once again, however, it's a high-demand season (almost for every countries) and also the phantom of the opera is too popular to get a good seat with a cheap price.
We couldn't help buying tickets for 60F for stall seats.
For poor students, it was obviously too expensive but our expectation towards the musical was that great.

Since I came here, I've seen musical three times including today's one, which were Lion King, Wicked and the phantom of the opera as order.
I can say confidently(or without doubting?) that the phantom of the opera is the best one among them.
What impressed me most was that the way they made the best of stage and settings.(무대와 무대 장치 활용)
They used many settings which can make audiences fascinated like a chandelier that had been on the stage at first and then was moved above the audiences while the musical was running.
It's just the tip of an iceberg. If you have an apportunity to come to London, you mustn't miss this musical.
The saying that "To see for oneself is worth all the books of travel." can be applied in this case.(haha)
It was fully worth paying 60F and I'm very satisfied now. :))))))))


I have a question!
How can I use expression which means "~되다" naturally?
-> "~되다"라는 표현을 자연스럽게 쓰려면 어떻게 해야하나요?

For example, ~하는 생각을 하게 되다. 이런 표현을 쓰려면요 ㅜㅜ

All things I do these days are almost new experiences to me.
Living alone abroad is quite lonely and difficult but I'm enjoying this moment it'll never come again..
Actually I hope this moment will last forever...
I'll enjoy lots of things I can do in only London until I go back to Korea and make friends from other countries !
After getting used to living here, I wanna go another countries in Europe, like France or Germany, Switzerland.
It's very convienient to go another countries in Europe for Europian.. I really envy this.

Today was the last day of Easter holiday in UK so I have to go to school tomorrow. I'd love to make a lot of friend soon.

Keira Knightley and James McAvoy are in this movie.
It was the first time to watch James' acting.
My sister likes him so much that she has always told me to watch his film. But It wasn't the reason I watched his film.

I'm faced with a poster about James' play in London.
That's why I felt I have to watch his acting. I thought If I 맘에 들다 his acting, I'll see his play when I'm in London.

I like plays, especially the liveness of it. I can feel some kind of passion and ambition from actors acting in a stage. I like that feeling so much. So I often go to 대학로, where is a place that is famous for plays and performances in Seoul. Some people around me say to me "Can you afford to go to see plays?" (I don't know whether the price of a play is high or not in other countries, but in Korea, it's fairly high comparing to movie ticket's price. Especially for a not rich student.)
But I'm not afford, I just save my money in other things and spend the money to see plays.

His acting in the movie was quite impressive. Particulary, his 눈빛 연기 was great. Moreover, the scenario of the movie was uncommon that I feel like reading an original work.

Anyway Because I 맘에 들었다 his acting, I'll certainly go to see his play.

Actually I haven't bought a book about Korea because I didn't think I have to read books about my country. Because I'm a Korean and I've thought I already know enough about my country. But I didn't.
I haven't read the book yet, but after looking over the book, I think its composition and contents are quite great.

If there is a person who has some interests about Korea and lives in Korea, it's useful and interesting to read the book. It's written in English. It's for a person who can't read Korean fluently.
But I don't know whether there is the book in abroad.


And these days I'm totally falling into watching a sitcom named "IT Crowd" made by U.K.. It's really funny and hilarious!!!!!!!! It isn't famous in Korea, but I became to know it by chance. It was really good for me!
Is it popular in U.K.? Roy is so cute and like.... a nerd.ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

And There are some people thinking that "Seoul" is all of Korea.
Needless to say, Seoul is beautiful and active city, so I'm very proud of it.
BUT, Seoul is a part of Korea, not ALL. Many people, even Korean living in Seoul and vicinities, are thinking like that.

And also our government almost develop and support the Metropolitan.
It's so undesirable.(I'm citizen living in the Metropolitan. Don't misapprehend me as a countryman to say these things.. with a sense of inferiority.)

I dropped by a bookstore after finishing English Study.

I like going to bookstore or library for reading books.

Books piled like mountains make me feel nice and good.

Just Seeing them.

Because I already have books to read in my home, I didn't buy books but instead buy a jigsaw puzzle.

I already have one puzzle. Its picture is "Cafe Terrace at Night." of Van Gogh. Do you know this picture?

The first picture I uproad is that.

It has really subtle color. Just seeing makes me calm.

And the second picture is the one I bought today.

It's "The Kiss" of Klimt. This picture is really great, too.

These two are very very famous art.

Anyway I feel happy to get this puzzle.

I'll try to assemble pieces tomorrow.

+ Oh, puzzle of Gogh has 500 pieces, that of Klimt has 1,000 pieces...... whew.. It's harder than before to assemble.. T_T

Watching ASO without subtitles is fairly difficult, but I'm trying to listen without that for improvement of my listening competence.
