Looking into Eyes

We Japanese tend not to look into eyes of others while we are talking to each other. We feel that behavior to be a bit rude or uneasy. Of course, if we talk to our boyfriend or girlfriend, it is very usual to look into eyes of the other. But this is not the case if you meet a person who you don't know in Japan. Though I have heard that looking at eyes is proof of trust in other countries, this is not necessarily true of Japanese.

Good work. You have to work a little on the words you use and their placement in the sentence. Other then that it was well written. After reading this I know that when I visit Japan that I should not look someone in the eyes so I don't make them uncomfortable. Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks. What's the difference between "tend not to" and "tend to not" ? I hear the former more often...

Nothing, it just sounds better to say tend to not. Also, your very welcome. Either way is correct I was just showing you another way to say it. You weren't wrong at all.
