Some people said if you want to see the original Chang-an style streets, you should go to Kyoto. At the Tang dynasty (from AD.600 to AD.900), Chang-an was the capital of china. At that time China had developed advanced technologies and cultures. Some Buddhists imported them into Japan and built some grand Chang-an style temples. These temples and some folk houses have been remained. They all built by wood. It was so difficult to be protected. After one thousand years, we can hardly found the original one in China too. What’s a pity.
When I walked on the narrow lanes near the “Silver Pagoda”, it reminds me of old Shanghai. The narrow streets, the low clowed houses, the shallow waterways all had been existed in my childhood. But now they all disappeared.
