Does 「そろそろ」 mean quickly/soon?

I found that 「そろそろ」 is a high frequency word.

For example:

あ、もう　８時ですね。そろそろ　失礼します。
テレサちゃん　今　寝てんすけど。そろそろ　起きると思ういます。


Does it mean soon or quickly?

It means it is time to do something.

  • そろそろ 起きると思ういます。

 

Here is another example of そろそろ:
そろそろ暗くなってきた。
It is getting dark.
