I have been on a one day trip since yesterday.
I will return home tonight.
"Come" usually means motion in the direction of where the speaker is now.
"Home" without any modifier means "my home".
I ate a delicious dinner last night. [Alternative: The dinner I ate last night was delicious. Dinner was delicious last night.]
"The dinner I ate last night" = 「昨夜食べた夕食」
If you say just "dinner", the reader will assume you are talking about the dinner you ate.
That's why I slept well last night. [Alternatives: Because of that, I slept well last night. For that reason, I slept well last night.]

I often use this phrase, "I return home".
