I was surprised that not a few people started learning Japanese because it seemed difficult for them!
Wow! You guys are great challengers!! (^_-)b

I agree that Japanese and Indo-European language family are different in many ways, and it's not so easy to master.
I often make mistakes in articles (a/the), plural/singular, and verbal inflections which we do not have in Japanese.
However, I like English because its history, especially etymology, is very interesting and I love its sound!
One of my favorite is the east Irish accent.
It was very difficult for me to catch when I first heard it though!
I think it sounds soft and lovely. :)
(The image above is me playing the violin with Irish musicians at a pub)

My favorite English words are "lovely" and "briliant" because I like "L" sound.
I like the way British people say "lovely" for "thank you."
It always makes me feel very happy! :)

What are your favorite words in Japanese or English? :-)

I love the way Japanese sounds! ^_^
My favorite word...hmm...I love them all really but if I had to pick one on the spot, I'd say maybe なつかしい

My favorite English word, I think, would be "oblivion."
I like the "L" sound too, and especially the "ion" sound at the end of words.

Hmm... I can't think of many right now. I like the words "flummoxed" and もちろん though. Haha.

The writing makes Japanese difficult for some of us because you must learn both the spoken and written form of the language. This makes it feel like learning 2 languages at the same time. I enjoy the challenge though.

My favorite sounding words in Japanese right now are 新しい、だから、and actually any word ending with し sounds very nice.

In English I'm not sure since I have spoken it my whole life. I like the NY accent since I grew up around it but I also like the proper London English accent as well.

My favorite words are "smart" and "simple".

A word I like the sound of in English is "plinth". It just has a nice ring to it, but unfortunately is a pretty useless word.

A word I like to drop into conversations whenever I can is "turgid". For some reason, it always makes me smile.

A word I like but have trouble pronouncing sometimes is "corollary", but that's nothing compared to the trouble Japanese people have pronouncing it. If you can't distuingish between your R's and your L's, you don't stand a chance.

I can't think of my favourite Japanese word right, but natsukashii as mentioned above is nice. I also like that "ehhhh?" sound Japanese people make when they are suprised or impressed.

I like japanese words that have Os in them like omoshiroi or momoiro.

日本語は 「努力」 です。

I agree, The British People seem to have interesting accent.
Thats why I love The Beatles.

- Hi Tyler,
Thanks for the corrections!
I didn't know the word "flummoxed."
Well, without the meanings, I like its sound. :)

- Hi Fluffy,
Thanks for the corrections and the comment!
Sometimes I miss the word "なつかしい" when I speak English.
I wish there were an English word for it!
Do you like "lion" too?
I think it's the simplest word with "l" and "ion"! LOL.

- Hi Lewis,
Thanks for the comment!
If you like how だから sounds, how about からだ?
It has the same sounds with different order. :)

- Hi calis,
Thanks for the comment!
I like the meanings of both words too!

You like /k/ and /g/ sounds, right?
Both are the velar stops. :)
