私が学生だった時の話に戻りましょう。
I will back to the story when I was student.

今日は第4話です。
This is No.4 today.

私の時代の英語教育は本当にひどかったという話ですが、早速始めましょう。
The story, that English education in my period was so bad.
so,,, lets get started.


みんなどうしたら英語の問題が解けるのか?どうしたら試験で良い点が取れるのか?が知りたいのです。
We all wanted to know how to solve the English question? And how to get high score at the exam?.


一部の大変な努力家の生徒はものすごく沢山の単語やイディオムを丸暗記し、難解な文法をマスターすることで、試験の問題を解けるようになった人もいます。
Some of the students who were very hard workers became to be able to solve the questions by that memorizing thousands words and idioms indiscriminately and studying the abstruse grammar harder.

それはとんでもなく素晴らしい人たちとしか言いようがありません。
They are real marvelous and excellent persons in the opinion of me.

彼らは試験で高得点を取ってました。
They had gotten high score at the English exam.

しかし残念なことに、彼らのほとんどは今は英語は喋れません。
But, it is sad things because most of them can not speak English now.

試験のためにまる覚えしたのですから忘れてしまうのは当たり前ですね。
They had just memorized it only for the exam, so that was quite proper to all forget it wasn’t that!?

彼らの努力は素晴らしいのですが、私にとって英語の勉強は苦痛以外のないものでもありませんでした。
Their effort was wonderful, but for me, studying English had only inflicted me a pain.

グラマーブックには形容詞とか副詞、主語、現在完了・・等々ばかりが書いてありますが
Grammar book only said that the adjective and the adverb, the subject, the present perfect .. etc

なんのことやらさっぱりわかりません。
They had never been understood to me.

解けない難解なパズルを眼の前にして、いくら時間をかけても何も進歩しないのです。
Looking at the unsolved puzzle in front of these text books and the dictionary , how much times I spent, there was no progress.

学力向上の手がかりは全くないのです。
There weren’t any kind of clue to improve my scholastic ability.

これは拷問といっても良いでしょう.ただの時間の無駄なんですから.全く馬鹿げた話です。
I can say it like a torture. Because it was just only waste of the time.
It was completely nonsence.
