A large body of cold air stayed in Japan from last Wednesday to Friday.
Today's lowest temperature in Nagoya was -5℃, so I sometimes waked up this early morning.
It was the coldest morning in this year.
There were lots of troubles in Sea of Japan coastals regions and northern Japan.
But I feel that sunrise is becoming earlier and it is getting warmer day by day.

２月２日に名古屋の通（とお）りで１５cmの雪（ゆき）があった。

先（さき）の水曜日（すいようび）から金曜日（きんようび）に日本（にほん）に寒気団（かんきだん）が居（い）座（すわ）った。
今日（きょう）の最低温度（さいていおんど）が-５℃で、私（わたし）は時々（ときどき）早朝（そうちょう）に目（め）が覚（さ）めた。
これは今年（ことし）の最（もっと）も寒（さむ）い朝（あさ）だった。
日本海（にほんかい）に面（めん）した地域（ちいき）や北日本（きたにほん）で多（おお）くの問題（もんだい）があった。
しかし、私は日（ひ）の出（で）が日に日に早（はや）くなり、温（あたた）かくなっていると感（かん）じています。

I saw some fields with snow on the way.
When I arrived at Kanazawa, there wasn't snow on the streets.
The sky was gray.
My co-worker told me that this weather in this area is changeable in winter.
Even if it was a fine day in the morning, but sometimes it changed to be cloudy and rain or snow.
This city faces the Sea of Japan, so fish is fresh and very delicious.

昨日（きのう）、電車（でんしゃ）で名古屋（なごや）から北（きた）の金沢（かなざわ）に行（い）きました。

私（わたし）は途中（とちゅう）、田畑（たはた）に雪（ゆき）が残（のこ）っているのを見（み）ました。
金沢に着（つ）いたときは通（とお）りには雪はありませんでした。
空（そら）は曇（くも）っていました。
私の仲間（なかま）が言（い）うには、この地方（ちほう）の冬（ふゆ）の天気（てんき）は変（か）わりやすい。
朝（あさ）、晴（はれ）ていても曇ったり、雨（あめ）や雪に変わりやすい。
この町（まち）は日本海（にほんかい）に面（めん）しているので、魚（さかな）は新鮮（しんせん）でとてもおいしいです。

My co-worker and I drove to Takayama located at about 140 km north of Nagoya.
When we left Nagoya city at 10:30 A.M. and the sky was very good.
While we were driving to the north direction, many gray clouds appeared in the sky.
When we drove about 120 km and we were at 1,000m high, the landscape had changed to be a lot of snow.
We were luky even in that sky, because the weather wasn't a snowstorm.

同僚（どうりょう）と私（わたし）は昨日（きのう）仕事（しごと）で高山（たかやま）へ行（い）った。


同僚と私は名古屋（なごや）から140km北（きた）にある高山に行った。
私達（わたしたち）が名古屋を朝（あさ）10時（じ）30分（ふん）に出（で）た時（とき）は空（そら）は良（よ）かった。
北に目指（めざ）して進（すす）んでいる内（うち）に、空に多数（たすう）の灰色（はいいろ）の雲（くも）が現（あら）れた。
120km進み、標高（ひょうこう）1,000m上（のぼ）った時、景色（けしき）は雪（ゆき）に変（か）わった。
私達はそんな空でしたが、吹雪（ふぶき）でなかったことが幸運（こううん）であった。

The pain of gums disapeared from me today.
I recognize the importance of my teeth again.

朝食（ちょうしょく）でご飯（はん）や野菜（やさい）をうまく噛（か）めなかった。
そこで、私は飲（の）み込（こ）み、十二分（じゅうにぶん）に味（あじ）わえなかった。
一昨日（おとつい）、歯磨（はみが）きで粗（あら）く磨（みが）いたので痛めてしまったようだ。
昨日は歯肉に触（ふ）れず磨いた。
今日（きょう）は痛みは無（な）くなった。
私は歯（は）の大切（たいせつ）さを改（あらた）めて再認識（さいにんしき）しました。

During for these days off, my family visited my father-in-law and we met our relations in Fuji city, Shizuoka.
And we met them for the first time after 7 months.
We were very happy that they were fine.
And I was able to see Mt.Fuji very clearly.

私（わたし）の7日間（なのかかん）の休日（きゅうじつ）はあっという間（ま）に終（お）わってしまった。

この休日の間（あいだ）に静岡県（しずおかけん）富士市（ふじし）に住（す）む義父（ぎふ）を訪（たず）ねそして親戚（しんせき）に会（あ）えました。
7か月目の再会（さいかい）でした。
皆（みな）さんが元気（げんき）で大変（たいへん）しあわせでした。
また、富士山（ふじさん）がはっきり見（み）ることが出来（でき）ました。

I washed and waxed my car for the first time after three months.
And I practised to put a chain on a tire of my car.
If there were a few snow on the way, I thought I should to practise putting a chain beforehand.
Actually I forgot how to put it, so it was better to do it.

私（わたし）は車（くるま）のチェーンの装着（そうちゃく）練習（れんしゅう）をしました。

今日（きょう）は少（すこ）し冷（つめ）たい風（かぜ）があったが太陽（たいよう）の陽（ひ）がさした日（ひ）でした。
私たちは明日（あす）義父（ぎふ）の住（す）む静岡県（しずおかけん）に車（くるま）で行（い）く予定（よてい）です。
私は洗車（せんしゃ）しワックスがけをしました。
そして、チェーンの装着練習しました。
もし、途中（とちゅう）で雪（ゆき）があった場合（ばあい）を考（かんが）え、私は前（まえ）もってチェーンの装着練習しました。
実際（じっさい）、私は装着の仕方（しかた）を忘（わす）れていました。練習して良（よ）かったと思（おも）いました。

It was a fine day and I felt comfortable.
I jogged for about 4 kms after 20 days.
While I was runing, I asked myself why I jogged even in a hard time.
I'd like to give up my jogging at the early stage.
This is that I struggle agaist myself.
When I passed at three fourth course, I changed my idia to continue jogging.
After I jogged, I felt comfortable.

私（わたし）は午後（ごご）家（いえ）の近（ちか）くをジョギングしました。

私は20日振（ぶ）りにおよそ4kmをジョギングしました。
走（はし）っている間（あいだ）に、私は自分（じぶん）に何（なん）で苦（くる）しんでまでジョギングするのか自問（じもん）自答（じとう）しました。
これは自分（じぶん）との戦（たたか）いです。
私がコースの3/4を越（こ）えた時（とき）に、考（かんが）えは走（はし）り続（つづ）けるように変（か）わっていました。
走り終（お）わった時、私は気分（きぶん）が爽快（そうかい）になっていました。

We have holidays from December 29 to January 3 by law.
My company will start from January 5th.
My family is going to visit my wife's father house for 3 days in Shizuoka Prefecture.
He is 97 years old and he lives with her sister's family there.
We are looking forward to meeting them.

今日（きょう）は日本（にほん）では官庁（かんちょう）の今年（ことし）の最終日（さいしゅうび）です。

私（わたし）たちはこれを御用（ごよう）納（おさ）めと言（い）います。
御用は官庁の意味（いみ）で、納めは終（お）わるの意味です。
私たちは12月29日から1月3日まで休（やす）みです。
私の会社（かいしゃ）は1月5日から仕事（しごと）が始（はじ）まります。
私の家族（かぞく）は妻（つま）の父親（ちちおや）が住（す）む静岡（しずおか）に3日（か）間（かん）行（い）きます。
義父（ぎふ）は97歳（さい）で姉（あね）夫婦（ふうふ）と一緒（いっしょ）に生活（せいかつ）しています。
私たちは彼らに会（あ）えるのを楽（たの）しみにしています。

This is a special training school for design, fashion etc. in Nagoya.
This design is an unique architecture.
I think that it was difficult to construct the building and it might cost more expensive than usual.
I also wonder how to wash its windows.
I'm interested in many things about the building.

これは何（なん）の建物（たてもの）だと思（おも）いますか？

これは名古屋（なごや）にあるデザイン、ファションなどの専門（せんもん）学校（がっこう）です。
このデザインはユニークな建築物（けんちくぶつ）です。
私（わたし）はこれを建（た）てるのに難（むずか）しく、そして一般（いっぱん）のものに比（くら)べコストも割高(わりだか）であったと思（おも）います。
私はまた窓（まど）の清掃（せいそう）をどのようにするのか気（き）になります。
私はこの建物の多（おお）くの事（こと）について、とても興味（きょうみ）があります。

It was a very cold today.
A few transportation in Japan had its troubles with the snow.
Some Shinkansens stopped for two hours because a tree with the snow fell down on the electrict wire.
After that, the other Shinkansens were operated slowly in the limited section.
The sidewalks in our town was covered with a snow this mornig, and the most of the snow was melted by noon.
I'm happy that the peak of the snow passed in our town.

今日（きょう）、名古屋（なごや）に初（はじ）めての雪（ゆき）が降（ふ）った。

日本（にほん）のいくつかの交通（こうつう）機関（きかん）は雪（ゆき）でトラブルがありました。
新幹線（しんかんせん）は、雪で倒（たお）れた木（き）が架線（かせん）にかかり、2時間（じかん）止（と）まった。
その後（ご）、限（かぎ）られた区間（くかん）で徐行（じょこう）運転（うんてん）が行（おこな）われた。
わが町の歩道（ほどう）が朝（あさ）雪でおおわれましたが、昼（ひる）にはとけた。

It is made from some various white fish, and it may be called a steamed fish paste, surimi.
We sometimes eat it in daily life, and we also eat it especially in first three days of new year in Japan.
It is said that it means a new starting because the shape seems like sunrise.
In old days, it was so expensive that people eat it in only special days.

私（わたし）は今朝（けさ）、蒲鉾（かまぼこ）についての取材（しゅざい）をテレビで見（み）た。
それは多種類（たしゅるい）の白身魚（しろみさかな）から作（つく）られたもので、蒸（む）した魚「すりみ」と言われているかもしれません。

The cold air often brought lots of snow to Japan.
When we had a first snow in our city, the snow sometimes caused us lots of traffic congestion.
The cold air will appear to us every about 10 days till the end of February.

December 23 is a national holiday called Emperor's Birthday in Japan.
I printed about 200 sheets of New Year cards today.
I make the cards used by a rubber print every year.
I'm usually pushed for time to make the cards in Decenber.
Because if I post the cards by 25th, the cards are delivered on January 1.
I have to think about a design of the card, to carve the rubber and print them.
I'm very happy I was able to print them this year.

12月（がつ）23日（にち）は日本（にほん）では天皇（てんのう）誕生日（たんじょうび）という祝日（しゅくじつ）です。

今日（きょう）私（わたし）は、200枚（まい）の年賀状（ねんがじょう）を印刷（いんさつ）しました。
私は毎年（まいとし）、ゴム版画（はんが）を使（つか）って年賀状を作（つく）ります。
私はいつも12月に年賀状つくりに追（お）われます。
というのは、25日までに投函（とうかん）すれば1月1日に配達（はいたつ）されるからです。
私は絵柄（えがら）を考（かんが）え、ゴム版画を彫（ほ）り、印刷しなければなりません。
私は、今年は、印刷できましたので大変（たいへん）幸（しあわ）せです。、

The winter solstice means the longest night and the shortest day in a year.
On this day, we eat some pieces of pumpkin and take a hot yuzu bath, called yuzuyu.
Because it is said that these are useful for us not to catch a cold during this winter.
The pumpkin has been richer food among few vegitables in winter in the old days.
The yuzu means a fruit like a citron, the yu means a hot water in Japanese.
The yuzuyu is to take a bath with floating a mesh packet of some yuzus in the hot water.
The yuzuyu is said to guard agaist colds, warm the body, and relax the mind.
I'm looking forward to eating the pumpkin and taking the yuzuyu this evening.

日本（にほん）では今日（きょう）が冬至（とうじ）です。
　
　冬至は1年間（ねんかん）で最（もっと）も夜（よる）が長（なが）く、昼（ひる）が短（みじか）い日（ひ）を意味（いみ）します。
　この日には、私（わたし）たちはカボチャを食（た）べ、「ゆずゆ」と言（い）っている柚子（ゆず）のお風呂（ふろ）に入（はい）ります。

　日本語（にほんご）で柚子（ゆず）はシトロンに似（に）た果物（くだもの）の意味です。湯（ゆ）はお湯の意味です。
　柚子湯（ゆずゆ）は風呂のお湯に柚子を網（あみ）の袋（ふくろ）に入（い）れ浮（う）かべます。
　　柚子湯は風邪、体（からだ）を温（あたた）め、気持（きもち）ちを楽（らく）にするを言われています。
　私は今晩（こんばん）、カボチャと柚子湯を楽（たの）しみにしています。

In Japan, we had parking problems in our downtown.
There were a lot of illegal parking cars even in many intersections.
The Road Traffic Law was revised to introduce a new system in 2006.
The main things are to adopt the outsourcing parking attendant system and the prcedure has been simplified.
Now, if they find a offender about parking, they take a picture of it and they can issue the ticket instantly.

街中（まちなか）で駐車（ちゅうしゃ）問題(もんだい）をどのように取（と）り扱（あつか）っていますか？

日本（にほん）では、街中の駐車問題がありました。
交差点内（こうさてんない）でさえ多（おおく）くの違法（いほう）駐車車両（しゃりょう）がありました。

In my case, I don't chew breakfast well in the morning.
I have to have the breakfast in about 10 minutes.
I'll make an effort to chew food the 30 times at lunch and dinner.
But I sometimes might forget to chew them 30 times.

人（ひと）は一口（ひとくち）の食べ物（たべもの）を何回（なんかい）かんだらよいですか？

日本（にほん）の医者（いしゃ）は人は一口の食べ物を30回以上（いじょう）かむことを薦（すす）めています。
というのは、そうすることで、あなたの頭脳（ずのう）や内臓（ないぞう）と減量（げんりょう）に良（よ）いからです。
私（わたし）の場合（ばあい）、朝（あさ）はよくかんでいません。
およそ10分（ふん）で終（お）えなければならないからです。
私は、昼食（ちゅうしょく）と夕食（ゆうしょく）は30回かむようにしようと思（おも）います。
しかし、時々（ときどき）30回かむことを忘（わす）れてしまうかもしれませんが。

I left my house wearing my coat this morning.
I found a train conducter wearing no coat.
Whenever the train stopped at stations, she got off the train, opened and closed these doors.
A cold winter has been coming, it will be harder.
I think her work is very responsible and respectable.

私は今朝、コートを着（き）て家（いえ）を出（で）た。
私は車掌（しゃしょう）がコート無（な）しに気（き）がついた。

The cost of the package was 3,580 yen ($46 or 35 EURO) per 10 kilograms.
The cost includes a comsumption tax 5%.
My family who consists of 4 parsons buys two packages a month.
The government attemps to rise the comsumption tax rate to 10% till in 2015.
Because Japan has a huge amount of national debt.
But Japanese economy isn't still good.
So it's hard to judge the time.

Ginkgo trees have leaves on their branches yet.
The average temperature in a few months might be a little higher than usual.
News said that red leaves of other's trees were late.
Gingo nuts smell bad but they taste good.

日本（にほん）では、イチョウの木（き）がいつもと比（くら）べて変（かわ）っいます。

イチョウの枝（えだ）にいまだに葉（は）をつけています。
この数ヶ月（すうかげつ）の平均気温（へいきんきおん）がいつもより少（すこ）し高（たか）いのかもしれません。
ニュースで　紅葉（こうよう）が遅（おく）れたと言っていました。
銀杏（ぎんなん）は匂（にお）いは臭（くさ）いが、実（み）はおいしい。

The earthquacke happened at about 1 PM, in Japan.
The scale was magnitude 5.2 and the seimic center of it was eastern Gifu Frefecture.
When I arrived at a JR station at 5:20 to get a train, the train was behind the schedule.
The platform was very crowded with people.
But I could take the train 10 minutes delay.

日本（にほん）では、昨日（きのう）の午後（ごご）地震（じしん）がありました。

規模（きぼ）はマグニチュード5.2で、震源地(しんげんち）は岐阜県（ぎふけん）の東部（とうぶ）でした。
午後（ごご）5時（じ）20分（ふん）にＪＲの駅（えき）に着（つ）いたときは、電車（でんしゃ）に遅（おく）れが出（で）ていました。
ホームは人（ひと）でたいへん混（こ）んでいました。
しかし、10分遅れで電車に乗（の）ることができました。

Whenever I take a train , I have to be checked my ticket at a gate of station in Japan.
I had to take out and inset my commuter's ticket into a gate machine before.
Now, I only touch it on the gate mashine and I can enter into the station.
And I don't have to have small coins to buy a ticket to go somewhere.
Many systems have improved nowadays.

ICチケットは私(わたし）にとって非常（ひじょう）に便利（べんり）です。

日本（にほん）では、私は電車（でんしゃ）に乗（の）る時（とき）、駅（えき）の改札口（かいさつぐち）でチェックを受（う）けます。
以前（いぜん）は、改札口の機械（きかい）に定期券（ていきけん）を取（と）り出（だ）し、挿入（そうにゅう）していました。
今日（こんにち）、駅の構内（こうない）に入（はい）るのに、改札機械に触（ふ）れるだけで入（はい）れます。
そして、私はある所（ところ）に行（い）く時（とき）に小銭（こぜに）で切符（きっぷ）を買（か）う必要（ひつよう）がなくなりました。
多（おお）くのシステムが改良（かいりょう）されてきました。

I returned to Nagoya from Tokyo on a business on Dec.13th.
I was able to see Mt.Fuji with snow on the top from a Shinkansen clearly.
And I could see the whole apperarance from the foot to the top.
We can often see all the shape in winnter.
Mt.Fuji was a very beautiful mountain and made me clean and pure feelings.

これは新幹線（しんかんせん）からの富士山（ふじさん）の写真（しゃしん）です。

私（わたし）は12月（がつ）13日（にち）仕事（しごと）で東京（とうきょう）から名古屋（なごや）に帰（かえ）った。
私は新幹線から頂上（ちょうじょう）に雪（ゆき）をかぶった富士山をはっきりと見（み）ることができた。
そして、私はふもとから頂上まで見ることができた。
私たちはしばしば冬（ふゆ）に全姿（ぜんし）を見ることができる。
富士山がとても美（うつく）しい山（やま）で私の心をきれいに清（きよ）らかな気持（きもち）にさせた。

Many people came out from the gate.
I wonder what time they left their home.
Maybe it might take about a hour from their house to this station.
Monday has just started to work in a week.


私（わたし）は朝（あさ）6時（じ）30分（ふん）に最寄（もより）駅（えき）の改札口（かいさつぐち）についた。

多（おお）くの人々（ひとびと）が改札口から出（で）てきた。
私は彼（かれ）らが家（いえ）を出る時間が何時（なんじ）か気（き）になった。
たぶん、彼らは家からこの駅まで一時間（いちじかん）かかるだろう。
月曜日（げつようび）はまさに一週間（いっしゅうかん）の仕事のはじまりだ。

I really feel like sleeping after lunch, so I decide to sleep for a short time at my desk.
After the nap, I recover my tiredness and I can concentrate to work.
I usually go to bed at 10 or 11PM and I get up at 5:30 AM.
My sleep may be in short at night.

今日（きょう）の午後（ごご）昼寝（ひるね）をしました。

私（わたし）はいつも土曜日（どようび）、日曜日（にちようび）に一時間（いちじかん）から二時間（にじかん）の昼寝をします。
そして、私は平日（へいじつ）はおよそ30分（ふん）職場（しょくば）で昼寝をします。
私は昼食（ちゅうしょく）後（ご）じつに眠（ねむ）くなり、そこで机（つくえ）で短（みじか）い昼寝をすることに決（き）めています。
昼寝の後、私は疲（つか）れから回復（かいふく）し、仕事（しごと）に専念（せんねん）できます。
私はいつも10時（じ）か11時に寝（ね）て、5時30分には起（お）きます。
私の夜（よる）の睡眠（すいみん）が短（みじか）いのかもしれない。

A large body of cold air has blown to Japan from Siberia.
It was so cold that I waked up twice this night.
It is getting colder till the end of February.
I'm looking forward to Spring indeed.

名古屋の朝（あさ）は、今年（ことし）で一番（いちばん）寒（さむ）かった。
シベリヤから日本に向（む）かって寒気団（かんきだん）が吹（ふ）いている。

この寒さは2月（がつ）末（まつ）まで寒くなる。

This means no smoking area on the sidewalk here.
If you smoke here, you'll have to pay 2,000 yen as a fine.
But this areas are limited to main streets around Nagoya station and downtown city.
And we also can't smoke in public transpotations like a train.
So some smokers begin to smoke when they start to walk on sidewalk from a station.

I saw some people who were absorbed in operating or reading iphone screens,
while they were walking along a platform at a station.
I think they have to choose a place when they operate the phones.
For example, they should refrain the phones in crowded aisles and stairs at a station.
They walked very slowly and sometimes stopped suddenly.
And they often disturbe people flowing , especially at morning commuter time.
I think they should be accustomed to manner how to use their phones in public.

私（わたし）は駅（えき）への通路（つうろ）で、携帯電話（けいたいでんわ）やアイホーンを操作（そうさ）している人（ひと）を見（み）かけた。

私は何人（なんにん）かの人が駅のプラットホームを歩（ある）きながら、アイホーンを操作したり、画面（がめん）をのぞき込（こ）んで夢中（むちゅう）になっているのを見た。
