Boxing day in the UK

My friend and I went to join a free chat in English at the city hall. Good news is that it costs free!
On the first and the third Mondays, they have a chat room where two English speaking natives join. They are hired by the city as AET and usually visit elementary schools and junior high schools to teach English.
Toay I met Benjamin from England.
He told us about " the boxing day "after Christmas holidays, which was totally new to me. I love to hear those stories. On that day people go out for their walks to excersise after having festive dishes. He also surmises that originally it might be the day people put their leftover into boxes and share with the poor.
He said he was a perfect bilingual as he was raised not only in England, but also in Philipines and Japan. He has a special switch and can change the language mode which language he should think and speak!!! I envy him a loooot. I wish I could open up his brain as Syler@ HEROES does.... LOL
