The celebration of a baby's first birthday in Korea.

I went to the birthday party for my friend's one-year-old baby.
A lot of people in Korea have a big birthday party for their one-year-old baby. They invite their family and friends and co-workers and everyone around them and celebrate a baby's birthday.
The best thing for this party is "돌잡이" which is an event during the party. A baby's parents put something like money, pencil, rice, thread infront of their baby and they have a baby select one of those things.
Each of those things symbolizes what baby's gonna be in the future.
For exemple if a baby select money he can be the rich, and if a baby selet thread he can live for a long time and so on.
Thesedays a lot of parents put the a stethoscope cuz they want a baby to be a doctor.
The baby that I went to the birthday party selected money.
His mom was happy about that but not his father.
His father wanted his baby to select a cavel. ;D
