In Taiwan, folks believe that we can send something to god and people in the other world through burning such as burning paper money, paper house, paper furnitures and so forth.
I don't know when and where this tradition stems from . That's just the thing.
As technology advances, some digital products such as PC ,cellphone and consoles made out of paper also appear in Taiwanese funeral and ritual service .
The paper-made products, however, is not cheap at all.
For example, a elaborate paper-made cellphone could charge as much as 30 USD, which is the same price as some second-hand cellphones.
Someone who doubts this custom also jokes that if the dead really receives these things for funeral, they must be in a world that suffers inflation seriously.
