Hot dog eating contest is held at New York Coney Island on every July 4th .
This year the champion is the defender Joey Chestnut who ate 68 hot dogs in 10 minutes, which ties his previous record.
Taiwan media report this news every year.
Actually, I like to watch big eater contest and theres is a pro organization, IFOC, dedicated to pro big eaters in America.
Instead of enjoying the flavor, gulping down foods seems sort of gross and wasting but I think it's interesting to see the eating limit.
Do you know a Japanese pro eating athlete named Kobayashi Takeru, the former hot dog eating champion, was invited to eat against bear at an eating contest ?
Here is the video and you can see who wan the game.

However, that really changed in the twentieth century, as health concerns associated with overeating became much more real to people than the obscure notion of not having enough food. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if the average American throws away more food than he eats. There are very few Americans left now who would still insist that it's better to eat more food than you're really hungry for than to throw the remainder in the trash.
Of course, eating competitions aren't exactly a healthy practice either, for the participants -- but then again neither are most spectator sports.
I also have to admit that seeing so many people cram foods is sort of gross.
Enjoying food is happy. : )
