Blockbuster
Blockbusters used to be ubiquitous in Taiwan 4 or 5 years ago.
As the online theater and download took center stage, the blockbuster in Taiwan was phased out and started to try hands on vending fast foods.
Word is that Amercan blockbuster is on the brink of going belly-up and 500 to 800 branches is predestined to close up in 5 months.
Although Taiwan's Optical Networks has not yet totally prevailed, mainly the 8M/640k and 3m/384k, many portal sites have begun marketing Online HD movies.
Owed by different shareholder from America's, Taiwan Blockbusters is still lingering.
No matter how far and few between these shops will be, I think it's something of regret that there will no physical discs for us to reserve.
