Cayman Islands

please correct my mistakes.

私の英語クラスの次回のトッピックが「カリビア海の国」でしたので、ケイマン諸島について書きます。
My teacher of my English conversation class gave us an assignment
for next class, so this is a draft for it.
The topic is "Countries on Caribbean Sea"

ケイマン諸島は、カリビア海のジャマイカ島の西側にある小さな国です。
Cayman Islands is very small country located west to Jamaica.

私の町の２．５倍くらいの大きさです。
It is 2.5 times larger than my city.

人口は４００００人位です。
The population of it is 40000.

２０年ほど前私はこの国に２年間ほど毎月一回手紙を出していました。
20 years ago, I used to send a letter once a month.

私の義理の弟が仕事の関係で単身で赴任していたからです。
My brother-in-law had transferred there for his job.

彼は、港を作る仕事をしていました。
He had worked to build a harbor facilities.

ちょうど、悲しいことがあって、失意の彼を慰めるのと、はるか異国の空の下にいる義理の弟の寂しさを思い、定期的に手紙を書き、週刊誌を２冊入れて送ることにしたのです。
He had gone from Japan after some serious trouble, so I wanted him to comfort by doing something.
I started to write him a letter with comporting weekly magazines in it.

正直、その頃、ケイマン諸島がどこにあるかなどまったく興味がありませんでした。
To be honest, I was not interested in Cayman Islands, and where it was located.


今回、初めて地図で調べました。
This time, I had an opportunity to look it up on a map.

多くのカリビア海の国よりも、ケイマンは豊かだそうです。
スキューバダイビングなどの観光があるからです。
I learned many things.
Cayman Islands is a quite wealthy because of sight seeing such as a scuba diving.


それから、最近、ここは、マネーローダリングができる国として、世界中から注目されています。
And, recently, this country is attended from all over the world because it allowed money laundering.

ここをモデルとして本も書かれました。
This country was a model for a best seller book.

20years passed.
Many things changed.
My brother-in-law is happy now with his wife and kids in Japan.
I really feel happy for him.

20年が経ちました。
いろいろなことがありました。
義理の弟は、今奥さんと子供たちと日本で幸せに暮らしています。
ほんとに良かったと思います。
