I have just received my first assignment corrected. I had a French text to translate in English and I was totally discouraged about that. The source text was really bad written and was about PCB exposure. I took me about 10 hours to translate this.
Finally, I got a B, which isn't so bad since the text need to have a superior quality to get an A. I have some minor grammar errors (the use of past tense and of which/whose) and bad use of 2 terms which are false friend with French(documentation instead of literature and exposition instead of exposure). But nothing about mistranslation. So I am pleased with my mark.
I don't know if the weather is good for you, but here, we have a heatwave since few days. We are not going outside very much, with the sun being so blazing. At least, my son don't have rain for his last school days; his school have organised a lot of outside activities. Yesterday, it was inflatable games, today it is outside snack and tomorrow, it will be a pool day.

Pas évident ! « en » est parfois « into » en anglais, s'il y a un mouvement, même s'il n'est que métaphorique.

Le deux « was » ont des rôles grammaticaux très diffèrents et il est ainsi mieux de répéter le « it » ici.

En français, on utilise le présent plus « depuis », mais en anglais, on préfère le présent parfait.

« Blazing » n'aime pas d'être tout seul ici. D'habitude, on utilise « blazing » avec « hot ».

Il fait très chaud dans Vermont aujourd'hui, et je veux faire une balade en kayak après mon travail. Du moins la rivière est encore froide !
Aaaa J'oublie toujours qu'il faut écrire « has » avec la troisième personne du singulier! Il faudrait que je revois mes textes et que je me fasse une petite liste de points à vérifier pour les prochains.
Le kayak doit être une activité très rafraîchissante en été! Je n'ai jamais pratiqué ce sport, mais j'avais envie d'essayer cet été. Il y a une rivière tout près de chez moi, et un endroit où l'on peut louer des kayaks.
