  • I was born and raised in Zushi, which is located in Japan's Kanagawa prefecture of Japan. [You could also just write 'I was born and raised in Zushi, Kanagawa.' because we know you are Japanese. My suggestion sounds a little formal. You can also write what you wrote and it is not wrong.]

  • Since I like "figure"s, so I was go into this. [Sorry. Not sure what you mean. Do you mean that you liked the shapes of the Japanese letters and wanted to be a calligrapher professionally? Or are you using 'into' in the sense of 'really enjoy'?]

  • It was really fun for me.
  • It was really enjoyable for/to me. [A common mistake to write 'it was really fun'. If using 'fun' you should say 'a lot of fun' or something similar.]

Hi Austim. Nice English. One or two small things to think about but very understandable. Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi!Martyn-san!
I'm so excited when I got a mail from Lang-8.
Thank you so much for the corrections and detailed comments.
How are you? I hope all is fine with you.

>Since I like "figure"s,・・・

I like the shapes and lines of figures(文字),
not only Japanese characters but also alphabets.
Sorry, it's hard to explain about this.

私は元々「文字」に興味があって、
それは日本の漢字やひらがなだけではなく、アルファペットも含めてです。
すみません、説明が難しいですね^^;

"Since I had always been interested in the shapes and lines of letters and characters, I loved it."

What do you think of that?

Right now, I'm living in Saitama-ken. But I'm going back to America on August 1.
