at a bar

My husband and I went to a bar last night.
It's been a long time since we've been to a bar.
We always get together with friends at someone's home and have a drink.
I don't drink much, I drink just one or two glasses in a month.
I like wine but cannot drink more than 1 glass, and I'm not into beer.
I can drink sweet cocktails, like juice...( like a teenager...)
The bar we went last night has sweet cocktails, so I was happy.

In Japan, you can drink many kinds of sweet cocktails at izakaya, cafe, and of course at a bar.
I don't think it's easy to find a place like that in North America.
People at a bar mostly drink beer, I guess.
( At least the bars I've been to )

What do you drink when you go to a bar?
And sometimes they don't have menu, so I become a bit nervous about what I should order.

“Because I'm not into beer, I like wine but cannot drink more than 1 glass.”

I’m not sure exactly what you mean here, but I don’t think the sentence should have “because” in it.

Thanks a lot!
mmm, I wanted to say, I'm not a huge fun of beer so I drink often, because there are many places to drink beer. Is this strange?

I think you mean this:

“Because I'm not into beer (I like wine), I cannot drink more than 1 glass.”

I think “I'm not a huge fun of beer so I drink often, because there are many places to drink beer.”

should be:

“I'm not a huge fan of beer but I drink it often, because there are many places to drink beer.”

  • I don't drink much (but here I'm not sure, maybe you can say 'hard drinker'^^), I drink only one or two <bottles/glasses> a month.

I don't like beer too! I dislike its taste and how it smells too. I don't like how women smell of beer when they drink it >.<
I prefer sake, tequila and whiskey mostly. I get sleepy after drinking wine, so I had to quit drinking it. I prefer stronger alcohol (I don't like vodka though). but I don't drink much. And even if I did, I doubt I'm able to get drunk =D
As for cocktails, I like Margarita..and.. basically anything that tastes good^^ I don't like cocktails that are too sweet (like, with Martini, for example).

And if they don't have a menu, you can jsut order almost any alcoholic drink you want ^^

As for going to bars, recently I've been choosing to stay at a friend's place rather than go to a bar, due to recent events (you might've heard how around 200 people died in a fire here at a restaurant, it was horrible)

By the way, what's izakaya?

Thanks again, sorry I made you confused! I don't like beer, and there are only places for beer, so I don't drink often!

Thanks! You don't like vodka?? That surprised me! I think almost Rossia= vodka, hehe.
Izakaya is Japanese style bar, you can drink and eat, cheap and delicious!
You will love it!

Hehe, yeah, I don't! A lot of Russian women don't like vodka actually. The real Russian vodka's taste is too strong. But men like it^^
