Is Volleyball Popular in Your Country?

When I was a little boy, I used to play all kinds of ball games that are common in China. They are soccer, basketball, volleyball, badmiton and pingpong. However, as I grew up things changed. I find myself no longer good at basketball, because I'm thin and I'm not good at physical contact. It seems that most other boys get stronger and stronger during adolescence while I am as thin as always.
I'm not short (184cm) and I love basketball, but the physical confrontation in basketball is just too fierce for me, so I seldom play basketball in college. Instead, I play for the volleyball team in my department and I think I play pretty well. LOL!
Is volleyball, including beach volleyball, popular in your country? (It doesn't matter if the answer is no. I still welcome your comments.)

"Confrontation" is more commonly used when dealing with clashing ideas, rather than physical competition. We call basketball a type of "contact" sport, so you could say "physical contact."

In English, there are two translations for 大学. "University" is the more common one in terms of names (比如:武汉大学 "Wuhan University"), but in terms of location (比如:我在大学经常打排球), you would ordinarily translate 大学 as "college." So the sentence I wrote earlier would be "I play volleyball a lot in college."
I'm glad you enjoyed my journal. It's great to have someone who I can share interest with. Volleyball is great fun! I like the feeling of spiking. It feels so good!(我这样说对吗). It looks like we are in the same boat. Yes, I know basketball, football are more popular in the USA. I'm tall in China, but in America?? By the way, what position do you like to play usually?
Yeah, 你这样说对了。
183cm is around 6 ft 1, right? Although the average height in America is a little taller than China, 6 ft 1 is still pretty tall. Especially where I am, since I live in an area with a lot of Chinese people, haha xP
I play outside hitter, but I just began playing this year. Even I'm not too good yet, I still like it :D
They are include soccer, basketball, volleyball, badminton, and pingpong.
Thanks! :)
