I am shy when it comes to speaking but I need to overcome this fear!
Please, would you mind tell me if this is right? I don't understand the "-ing" in "speaking", is it a wrong?

"-ing" makes a verb an active verb.
Run/running
talk/talking
swim/swimming
chatting
driving
eating
dancing
Tu sabe?
I think this concept can be quite confusing to Spanish speakers because in English we use gerunds (los gerundios) a LOT whereas in Spanish they are lot less frequent. When a verb is being referred to as a noun, in Spanish the infinitive form is usually used ("me gusta nadar"; no se dice "me gusta nadando") but in English we almost always use the gerund. So we say "I like swimming." You can also say "I like to swim" but the gerund form tends to be more frequently used.
Best wishes,

Add a "," before the word but
Please, would you mind tell me if this is right?
This sentence is correct.

You can add "ing" to a verb to make it continuous. In Spanish you would use the ending "-iendo or --iando" and in English you use the ending "-ing". Does this make sense?
Thanks again.
