I found out something interesting!
I sung the "happy birthday to you" song when I skyped with my friend.
Then he asked me about what Japanese birthday song is like.
I didn't know that. I wondered why I didn't know Japanese birthday song.
I googled about that.
I found out that there wasn't a habit to celebrate a birthday in old days.
We counted our age on January 1st.
In short, everyone gets old on the same day so Japanese poeple didn't have to celebrate their birthday.
I didn't know that though I'm Japanese x(

I lent my English CDs and textbooks for about 50,000 yen (about 600 dollers!) to my friend.
He lost most of them, but he still had a few of them.
So I called him since I wanted him to return the few books to me.
But I couldn't get hold of him!
Just now I've noticed that he had blocked me on Mixi. (Mixi is like Japanese version Facebook.)

One is a bird which is called "mejiro".
It is green and very small.
I don't know the other's name.
It is bigger than mejiros but it is still small.
Plus it looks tasty.

This is from my textbook.
The right answer is "is".
Why is "was" wrong? :(

In Japanese,
毎日ダイスケは窓を開けました。
毎日ダイスケは窓を開けます。
both are ok.

But is "every day" used in only present tense in English?
When I want to say about the future or the past, can't I use "every day"?

All of these words are "have to".


For example:
Have to eat
食べなきゃだめ
食べなくちゃいけない
食べなきゃいけない
食べなければならない


Lately I've thought "しなくちゃいけない" is the best to teach because it is grammar in JLPT.
But I think we use "しなきゃいけない" more than "しなくちゃいけない" because "しなきゃいけない" is easy to say more.

"しなければならない" is the most formal of these words.
But it's not wired if you use it in your journal, I think.
(Of course it depends on what words else you use.)
I like this the most.

I want to study how to teach Japanese.
Today, I was looking for books to teach people who speak Japanese as a second language Japanese.

さて、わたしはそろそろ寝なければならない…ねむい
(Well...I have to go to bed soon. I'm tired...)

I experienced two classes, and in the two classes, Japanese hardly speak when they are taking class. So do I.

Also, I found out clearly that Japanese don't get used to "how" or "what".
(Of course, some Japanese people are different)
The questions that start from "how" or "what" is really difficult because in Japan teachers hardly used the two words.
For example, "what do you think about it?" or "how do you feel about it?".
We just pile up knowledge.
But nowadays, apparently that is getting different.

I feel Japanese people have pretty different personality from people who live in other countries.
What do you think about Japanese people?
