you probably heard the famous Chinese saying "Good good study, day day up", meaning 好好学习天天向上 in Chinese. of course it is Chinese English. a better way to say it is "work hard and get better everyday" . I mean you pick up some Chinese everyday, and then one day you will find that you have learnt a lot... just have fun learning Chinese！

There are many differences between English and Chinese. That may be why you think Mandarin is difficult. As matter of fact, the grammar of Mandarin is easy the one of Englihs and the phonemes of Mandarin is less than the ones of English.
