Today I waked up at 12, because I went to sleep late yesterday.

Earlier we had decided to go to cafe together, we didn`t see each other a long time.

I weared a striped blouse and black shorts:) And after all this I was ready to go.

I came back home and started to prepare fried potato and salad for my mother`s coming (she came back from work at 19:20).

You could also say "Then I was ready to go."

It's really hard to explain why you use "I'm trying" instead of "I try."
But trust me, it sounds much better this way. : )
