What do you think about JAPAN?

These days I often think about countries all over the world.
One reason is that I started lang-8, another reason is that I often watch a certain TV program. The other day the program said that British foods are the most unpalatable in the world. I was shocked to hear that because I wanted to visit Britain someday.
Moreover it said that British foods are overcooked and vegetables are usually frozen.
Are these a real?
And it said that Japan is the best country has good influences for other countries.
Thanks for manga and anime? I was very glad.
That is why, please tell me what you think about Japan!!

最近、私はよく世界中の国々について考えます。
その理由の１つはlang-8を始めたからで、もう１つはある番組をよく見るからです。
先日、その番組でイギリスの食べ物は世界で一番まずいと言っていました。
私はいつかイギリスに行きたかったので、それを聞いてとてもショックでした。

Britain definitely has that reputation. Most people think British food is bad. However, I’ve never been to Britain so I can’t tell you if it’s true. You should be wary of stereotypes, though.
And it said that Japan is the best country and has good influences on other countries.
Is that what really you meant? Are they seriously brazen enough to say one country is better than all others?
They say that foreigners like manga and anime.
Yes, anime is very popular and is getting a lot of young people interested in Japan nowadays.
That is why I want you to tell me what you think about Japan!!

It may be all staged, though...
In that case, you should rephrase that part:
“May foreigners said that Japan had the best influence on other countries. They also mentioned that they liked manga and anime.”
Something like that.
I want to learn to write English well；(
I think that British food used to have a reputation for being quite bad - especially compared to food from the rest of Europe. But I think this reputation changed about 15 years ago. However, the legacy of bad food from the 80's still haunts us.
Nowadays, food in England is generally excellent. But part of this is because of the multicultural selection of restaurants we have. In many cities you can eat food from all over the world - and it is of high quality.
I have been to Japan and eaten many different foods there. Generally, I LOVE Japanese food and restaurants in Japan serve incredible Japanese food. However, my impression is that if I wanted to eat Italian or French food in Japan (for example), it would be very expensive and the quality would not be as high.
Just an observation.

Japanese and European people are different from the sense of taste. Aren't us?

Yes, we do have different tastes.
Many British people love Japanese culture - especially Japanese films. I also like Japanese films, but not really Anime. I don't know why.
Japan is expensive - especially at the moment because of the Yen-Pound exchange. If you come to England - now is the right time!! Haha.
Japanese culture and tastes are very unique - that's what makes the country so special. But most countries have something very special. You must travel the world to discover these things. And learning English is the most important skill you need for travelling - in my opinion. So you are doing a good thing by learning English!
I sometimes have dissatisfacion why Japanese people speak not English but Japanese. Japanese is minor language;(
We learn French at school (and sometimes German). But my French is not good. I am better at speaking Japanese! So I understand that learning language at school is not enough. Learning a language is a full-time job!
However it is not practical, but also for examinations.
I think Japanese is too difficult.
No one can write kanji perfectly!!(Especially I am not good at kanji!)

I like Japanese food, music and I also enjoy a lot of Japanese books and games! Besides that the culture and history is really interesting, and Tokyo is an extremely lively and sophisticated city. I also really like how friendly and helpful most Japanese people are! Of course there are also faults, but all countries have them!
I think Japanese government is too bad.
