またね!

Hello everyone it's been a while.
I have been busy, and have come to Korea. Right now I am in Seoul. This summer I am studying at Yonsei University taking Korean Language and a class on the Korean War. (I was not sure about which word to use in Japanese.) Classes start today. While I'm here, I'm going to be studying Korean and Japanese, and I brought my Genki 1 textbook with me to do so. Since I will go to Japan in September and study at Kansai Gaidai I think it is important to stay active with my Japanese studies.
Take Care!

P.S. There are things I cannot express in Japanese yet, so the English is more reflective of my current situation.

Hi Rumi,
Wow! I was way off with my spelling for Seoul, haha!! Trust me, I didn't forget about you. It has been so hectic between paperwork and packing to live in a new country that prevented me from coming here. Now that I am settled, I will pay more attention to you. ^__^ Thank you for the well wishes with my studies. When I come to Japan we will have to make plans to meet when I can eventually come to Tokyo. Hope all is well, bye!

I forgot to ask about, という;と言う and your correction with quoting the name of the book. All I have to do is leave it in dictionary form, and continue my sentence? I have only learned the third person quoting form when it goes at the end of a sentence.

Hi Maru,
Thanks for the well wishes and correction. I can't believe I wrote ikimashita instead of kimashita. Good thing my sensei didn't see this, haha.

When you talk about something with its name. it's necessary to add という after the name. So both "the book named Genki 1" and "the book Genki 1" should be translated as Genki 1 という本.
Actually, I'm not sure about your Genki 1 textbook because I've never heard of the word Genki 1.

勉強がんばってください。
By the way, I am a graduate of Kansai Gaidai.
I hope you will like it.

Rumi,
Thanks for the explanation.

currycook,
Thanks. I'm sure I will like it a lot.

You're welcome. Did you read my reply to your comment on my entry?
Jun 29th 2010 16:35 jess_man1999

Yep, just read it. No questions, but learned some useful things. Mainly the use of なの,あんた, and ___どう思う? Again, one of those things where I knew, どう思う, but only in its long form (-masu). If I have questions you can be certain that I will ask.

Hi, Jessey!!! It's been a while. I haven't even logged in this site these days. It's good to know you are coming to Kansai gaidai in September. But autually, I'm going to live in Tokyo for work during September! I'm coming back to kansai in October though. Hopefully we can meet up in fall!!! I can't wait! See you!

yukorin1031,
Haha!! You should come to Seoul, but there is one thing about this city that puzzles me. Since I came here last week, the sky has been overcast. I can't figure out if it is just overcast from the weather or if it is smog.

aoba,
You're in Tokyo now!!! That must be exciting. Until I posted this entry I hadn't been on in a while either. When you do come back we will have to meet up for some drinks. I will be in Japan for about a year, so we have plenty of time to get together.
