lisayou : WiWAX service (8)

Today I read a article about WiWAX service on Taipei's MRT system in the newspaper. WiWAX stands for Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access and the word was created by MiMAX forum, which was formed in June. 2001.According to the newspaper, eight trains of the Taipei's MRT system were said to be the world's first trains equipped with laptops with built-in WiMAX modules, which enable swift acces the internet to be used by passengers while riding the MRT trains. Up until then, the use of internet on a rapid transit system was either being unstable or impossible. However, these experiences of WiMAX were very successful .In fact, the wide-spread distribution of the WiMAX service on the rapid transit system is a goal set by the goverment in Taiwan. There is actually a slogan called "Mobile Taiwan" announced by our president Ma Yin-Jiou this year.. It is a fantastic concept and I certainly hope it could happen soon.

lisayou : DRINKING (5)

I used to like drink alcohol beverages in college but that was long time
ago. Now I did not feel like drinking and I have not drunk for a year.

I was not bad at drinking. In summer, I liked to drink draft beer or
flavored cocktail. In winter, I liked spirit, such as brandy or whisky.
Whenever I went out dinning, I liked to have aperitif and some wine
go with my meals.

Whenever I needed to celebrate somehting, I liked to buy shampagne.
I could drink a mix of drinks and did not have bad hangovers the next morning.
Although I heard yogurt with apples or sports drinks are good
for hangovers, I never needed to try them.

I think I were born with a good drinking capacity.
I seldom got drunk. If I got drunk, I normally just felt sleepy.
Therefore, I think I was a good drinker:)
One thing I did was that I liked to visit local liquor stores
whenever I went to a new place.

Anyway, I think time can change a lot of things,
I don't drink now.
I missed my drinking days.
What are your faovite drinks?

lisayou : A Touching Story (2)

I read a touching story in the newspaper today.

It talked about how Nacy Regan(age 87) sometimes saw her deceased husband Mr. Regan's ghost spirit appearing in front of her when she woke up in the middle of the night.

The coming July's Vanity Fair Magzaine quoted that Mrs. Regan
revealed during her interview as saying that " stranely I could see him.
When I woke up at night, I thought he was over there and I started to
talk to him. It did not matter as to what I spoke to him. But the fact is
that I thought he was there and I could also see him".

Her revealization shows that Mrs. Regan loves Mrs Regan so much.
She have talked many times during intervies that she has missed
Mr. Regan a lot. She also said that although people said that
time can make people remember less, the fact is not always like that.

I am so touched by this story.
I am always touched by love stories like this one between
elderly people.
Stories like this make me feel the unchanged, lasting love really exists.

When I try to clean up the house, I start from cleaning the floor first.

I vacuum the floor first and then use the rag to wipe the floors by my hands. I am not a mysophobia but I can not stand dirty floors.
I normally wipe the floor until I don't see the water in basket get any slightly dirty.

The second place I will clean is the bathroom.
I like to apply bleach to every corner in the bathroom because.
I don't like to see any yellow or dark stains on the wall or in the toilet.

The third place I will clean will be porch because it is polite to always keep the porch neat for possible visitors coming.

Although I dont like to do housework, I constantly try to keep the above places tidy. But for other places in the house, I don't care so much.
Am I being picky?

lisayou : My Day (4)

Today I would like to write about some actions or habits I do every day in English because I realize the English way of describing them might not be as easy as I thought. Therefore, I would like to give it a shot.

I am a night owl so if i go to bad before 2 o'clock, I might toss and turn in bed.
Although I don't have insomnia, I can't sleep well except in my own bed. When I can't fall asleep, I try to count sheeps.
Since I can't stand heat, I only put a thin blanket on while sleeping.

I have to wake up early becuase of the heavy-load of my job.
I take my supplements with an empty stomach right after I wake up.
This way the supplements aborb well as I heard.
After a quick cleaning, I make coffee and have simple breakfast while checking mails and so on on my PC.

Because I sit a lot in front of my desk, I would go out for lunch with collegues whenever I could.
I don't finish work at my office and I bring my work back home a lot.
I enjoy working and I always appreicate the opportunities working with
my clients.

I don't eat a lot becuae I am supposely on a diet, although the diet seems never really succeeds. I will keep trying because I am very resilient:) hahaha.

I am sorry I am writing a boring entry.
I will still like to have your corrections:)
Thank you.

lisayou : Gluttonous Rooster (1)

This is an article I read on yesterday's newspaper.
It talked about a rooster crossing through the road for donuts.

This rooster from Washintion State could not resist the lure of the donuts and he risked his life every day crossing through the road for a bite of the delicious donuts.

In this donuts shop in WA, every morning not only human but also
two-leg animals like to go to this shop for donuts.

One perticular morning, like every other morning, people were waiting in the shop for their coffee and donuts. Among them, there was a special white-colored rooster risked his life crossing through the road for
the donuts on the ground. Just like going to work 5-days a week, this
small-headed rooster thought only about the donuts. But he had his own tastes and he did not just eat everthing.

I just thought it was a funny story and I would like to share with you:)
Acutally in my city, there is one area near the moutain inhabiting a lot of monkies. They are so smart that they even know how to open the doors of the stories and steal or even rob food from shops or people.

Smart animals are somtimes scary to me.

Can you help me to fix my writing so it looks more concisely and understandable.

Dear XXX,

Thank you for your email telling me to contact XXXX.
I am afraid that my last mail to you was misleading(staggered?) since
the XXX problem has already been solved as I wrote to you in my last email on May.24.
If it is a new situation which happened after May.24, please let me
know and I will contact XXX office one more time.

Best regards,

Lisa Huang

lisayou : Bad Wether Day (1)

It is drizzling outside.

The wether reminds me of the soon coming rainy season in Taiwan and also of my alergic rhinitis.><
When the rainning season comes normally starting in May or June through September, it sometimes rains cats and dogs. Generally speaking, it is very humid and mildrew can form easily on clothe and food during this time.

Later during the rainy season, typhoons visit few times each year normally from July through September. Although the excessive rain can be catastrophic such as a flood, the fact is that the rainy season accounts for the main amount of percipitation in Taiwan. Besides, I think it helps to cool down the city from the heated temperature, and it blows cosy breeze.

When it is not raining,it is muggy and has nearly no wind during the daytime, sometimes I feel the air is so humid that I can not breathe enough fresh air.

Overall speaking, I do not like too much rain or too many rainy days, I am afaid to smell a mildrew odor in my closet. I always have to replace a new exsiccative once a month in my closet during the rainy season. Also I bask my clothe or blankets in the sun whenever the sun comes out.
The summer means more housework which is sad somehow.

I sometimes feel that my perception of myself is quite different from what others perceive me.

For example, I think I look better in skirts but I was praised more when I wore jeans or trousers.

Other examples would be something like I like my hair straight, but I was told that wavy hair suits me better.

Or I think I have a normal-sized face, but many people told me my face is small.

There are some other examples like the above where the perception from others via myself is just so different.

I do not mean to sound arrogant but I often just beleive in myself regardless of these perception discrepency><

Do you have the same experiences?

lisayou : Free Coffee (1)

This morning I got up early and went out to buy coffee and breakfast.
I decided to go to a coffee shop where I had seen many people buying
coffee from there.
When I went to the counter ordering the iced latte, I noticed one woman standing next to me. I looked at her and realzed she was my aunt.
She happened to be there buying her coffee and bread too.
We talked casually while waiting for our take-outs. When it came to paying the bill, she offered to pay for me. I refused but she insisted.
Therefore, I got a free latte.
I walked home with drinking my latte. It was very good.
From now on, I think I will go to that store to buy my daily coffee.

Today I did a lot of clearning around the house.
I might be too exhausted, and I was not feeling right.
I think I was catching a cold.
I felt dizzy and nausea and my chest was stuffy.
Although, I did not have a fever, neither a running nose nor any coughing,
I felt tired and lethargical. I had both sore muscle and waist pain.
Because of all these cold symptoms, I went to see a doctor.
He wrote out a prescription for three days and told me it was just a normal flu, not the Swine flu. That was a relief to hear.

lisayou : Astrological Signs Theory (0)

Do you believe in Constellation.
Well, I am a believer like many other Taiwanese people here.
I also beleive in Chinese fortune-telling as well as Tarot cards and blood types . I can be very superstitious sometimes and I go as far to choose friends according to their star signs.

For me, I live a life with a contradiction of both the modern technology and the old-fashioned ancient knowlege.

As for the star signs, I believe that our star signs affect
our personalities.

For example, I was born in mid-Feburary, a Aquarius.
I am a very typical Aqurius. I love freedom. I am curious, friendly and liberal.

What are your star sign and your personality traits?

lisayou : Strange Call (0)

Two days ago there was one undentified remittance in my bank account.

While I kept wondering who could have made the transaction, one not-so-much acquainted guy called me and claimed he made the transaction.

Later on in the afternoon that day, one other guy called and told me
he made that transaction by telling me exactly the transaction time and the name he used for the remittance. So the latter guy was the real payer.

Althought it was good to solve the money puzzle, I have a new puzzle to solve for why the first guy knew about that undentified remittance I had in the first place.
Was I daydreaming? It was so weird!

This morning when I was riding my bike to go for some errands,
I saw a injured man lying on the side of the road.

That man was lying still with a helmet on and there was a bike parking next to him.

Some people surrounded him. I think someone must have called the police already so I did not stop by to help.

I prayed for that man right after I passed that accident site.

I hope he would be okay since he wore a helmet and I did not spot
ny sign of blood on the road or anywhere on his body.

Still I felt sorry for him and wished a safe driving for everyone on the road.
