I'm living with my best friend for 2 year.
We often become cook. We like cooking!

Today, I made pasta.
Last time, I made "fried rice with thick sauce".
My friend said, "It is delicious".

Do you like cooking?
And what is dish that represents your country?

looks very delicious,I like to cook too,but it is Chinese food,i can't cook Japanese food.I decide to learn Japanese sushi today.

I make Chinese food too!^^
If you'd like to make Japanese food,
I think you'd better buy soy source.

In Japan, Japanese don't make sushi.
We go to sushi restaurant or we order out
when we'd like to eat to sushi.
Did you know?^^

However,if we make a sushi at home,
we make "Do-it-yourself sushi rolls".
It's easy! We don't need technique.
Try it!!^^

We often become cooks. -> I think it would be simpler to just say "We often cook." since becoming a cook sounds like a professional job.

Wow... the pasta looks soooo♡ delicious!
I am good at baking, but not at cooking. T_T
Today, I went shopping with my mom, and I caught a sight of a cookbook.
I really wanted to buy it and try cooking all the delicious looking dishes:)

うらやましいですv-v;;

I enjoy cooking. I like to cook Japanese dishes. Some of my favorite "traditional dishes" include: miso soup, onigiri, takoyaki, and rice omelet(with ketchup ^_^). I say "traditional" because a lot of the time instead of making a common known Japanese dishes, I prefer to experiment with the ingredients. I combine things that I think will taste good together and try to make meals that I think would be considered typical if I were living in Japan. This is very fun for me, but sometimes it really irritates my dad. He hates fish, so whenever I cook fish (which I love to do) he makes this sour face at me. ^_^ But I try not to mind too much. The dish that I really want to learn to make is unaju, it's my favorite!

>Dear Sa-chan

  • And what is dish that represents your country?
  • And which dish represents your country? (another possibility)

Hmm... the dish that best represents Miami? I'd say Key Lime Pie. It's got a lime filling that's sweet, creamy, and tangy. It's really delicious! Here's a recipe:

By the way, one day I made miso soup... I even made fresh dashi from seaweed! Yum :)

>Dear konayuki
I like pasta and fish too♪
I think fish is healthy and nice taste.
Do you know sashimi?
It is raw fish.^^
We eat it with soy source and horseradish.

>Dear akrodha
Thank you for your check!
Oh!(笑) Do you ate this miso soup?
How was the taste???
Key lime pie seems so delicious! But....
May 30th 2008 12:48 moo

Your dishes look delicious!
美味しそうよ!食べたいな!
Although I can bake well (it is my job!) I still cannot cook very well! But I really would like to learn to cook better!
Another very American dessert is, Apple Pie!
May 30th 2008 21:27 akrodha

The miso soup was really tasty! That was actually my second time making miso soup... the first time I didn't make any dashi, so it tasted a bit weird. It's amazing how a bit of seaweed changes the flavor entirely!

Well now you have another reason to go to the Florida Keys: that's where Key Lime Pie is from!

>Dear moo
Oh! Your job is pastry cook!
I almost forgot it!

I often eat apple pie.^^
It is very standard pie in Japan too.
I like it♪

>Dear akrodha
That's right, akrodha!
Dashi is very very important in Japanese food!
And you knew it. You are almost Japanese.^^
