Mandarin books for English speakers?
I know this isn't in any of the languages i'm learning so I apologise for that and I do not require my grammar to be checked even if it is incorrect.
My main purpose for writing this (as the title says) is if any of you know of any good Mandarin books that someone who speaks English can learn from? I'm looking for something more than just phrases but something which will allow me to form my own senteces; that would mean the book talks about grammar and sentence structure too.
Any leads would be much appreciated.
Regards,
Zane

I observed that some foreigners who can speak very well Chinese but they can't read or write chinese characters, all they did is to memorize the phrases. I think it is useful to memorize those chinese expressions and idioms....
if you need any help, you can write down in english, and i will translate into chinese for you.
Surely there must be some form of sentence structure which all sentences follow? I like to learn a language and be flexible with it rather than be stuck with certain molds if you know what i mean?
Thanks for your speedy and informative reply :)
and remember the adjective comes always before the noun.
