I like reading in my first lanage, and I had been reading a lot before I started to learn conversational English. I prefer reading real books. I am interested in a Kindle, though. I always try to read books in English, but it is still difficult for me. Reading is one of the weakness for me in English comprehension skills. I would like to read more to improve.

Dear Yumi, Thanks for your answer. I think reading is the skill helps you improve vocabulary. So with the Japanese beginner as me, I find difficulty in reading long story with many kanji which dont have relationship at all. With paper copies you can take note and make your own dictionary. I hope readers can use the electronic devices and application which included more convenient functions.

I've been reading only novels written in English recently. In fact, I'm very slow in reading even in Japanese, but I think I have to read as many books as possible.

I'm interested in e-book, but I don't think I won't try it for sime time. I spend lots of time staying at home so I don't need mobile devices like iPhone or iPad. I always order paperbacks on amazon. I think I spend long hours in using my computer already so I don't want to read books on computer. That would do damage to my eyes. :p
