Today, 5th April, is an Arbor Day. I don't know exactly whether there is also such a day in other countries, but anyway on this day people plant trees in a mountain.
Several years ago, the Arbor Day was a red letter day in Korea. In other words, people used to go to the mountain with their family to plant a tree instead of going to work or school.
But the Arbor Day isn't holiday in Korea anymore.
Honestly, I've never ever planted a tree in a mountain on Arbor Day, not even in a front yard.
This day has been just another holiday for me.
All I did on that day was that my friends and I planted flowers in our own pots in school or kindergarten.
We, or maybe just I have forgotten the meaning of an Arbor Day.
Did anyone plant a tree in the mountain on a day like this?

I've never celebrated Arbor Day. I think it's a Korean thing -- because of deforestation, people had to re-plant trees, and obviously they succeeded. The mountains have lots of trees now, so maybe they no longer need a holiday for people to plant more of them?
