At recently, I study English for English official approval grade semi-1.
It likes that I have to learn many very difficult idioms or words.
For example, the difference of "clash" , "krash", and "crush".
I haven't study such thing ever.
But after entered university, I don't study grammer.
Entrance examinations questioned a lot of idioms and grammer.
As you know, my English's grammer is often wrong.

But as I can see, you understand what I mean.

Is studying how to speak English good for me than studying many idioms or words?

I believe through learning how to speak English through talking with native speakers, you will naturally come across idioms and words that you do not know. Learning idioms by themselves, without any context, does not make a lot of sense. You need to use the idioms through conversation and writing.

A combined lesson plan of speaking/chatting with native speakers and studying formal grammar will probably provide you with success.

Cheers!
