Should we give beggars money?
Have you ever given beggars money?
Should we give beggars money?
In my perspective,I don't think we should give beggars money.
Firstly,I doubt whether all beggars are real ones.As far as I know, some
beggars are very rich.Their begging is a means of deceipt our
sympathy and money.
Secondly, they need to support themselves in a decent way.namely,
earn money by hard work or some skills. If they sing or play guitar,it is acceptable. While,if we give money everytime we met a beggar,it will
not do any help for them,on the contrary,it'll encourage increasingly
people to become beggars.
Finally,I don't think we should give beggars money. It doesnt mean i am pathetic or something like that.Even if we can help one or two,how about the rest hundreds of them?

It doesnt mean i am pathetic (do you mean pitiless?) or anything like that.
Even if we can help one or two,how about the rest of the hundreds of them?
Where I live there aren't any beggars but when i visited china i was suddenly overwhelmed by them. I gave some of them some money but i did hear that some are fake beggars so i stopped. but i find it really hard to turn away from someone who seems so poor and desparate.
what about those who have disabilities that prevent them from doing something skilled? i saw some beggars in china on flat trollies with severe physical deformities.

If they sing or play guitar, it is acceptable. (I left "acceptable", but it is a little unnatural. Maybe "it is okay". More formally, you could say: "I don't object.")

It doesn't mean that I am unsympathetic or something like that. ("...or something like that" is unecessary, and a little unnatural. You can just leave it out.)
Even if we can help one or two, how about the rest hundreds of them? (You can say "the rest of them", or "all the others" or "the hundreds of them that we don't help".)
As to the topic, I disagree. In some places there are organized beggars, particularly among children, and you have to be careful giving money to them. The best option in those places is to give money to a charity that helps street children and the homeless. (Actually, this is usually a good option. An even better option is to help people directly by volunteering for a charity.)
I think it's unfair to believe that many beggars are rich and doing it for sympathy. Even if people like that exist, most beggars are people with a very bad life. Lots of people have very hard lives and don't have the skills, knowledge or education to get a job. These people aren't happily begging all day and being lazy, they are living a hard life with almost no pride and no happiness.
It's easy to say that a beggar just needs to work hard and get a job, but you shouldn't say that unless you know about their lives. Without qualifications, a home, or a good appearance people can find it very hard to get a job. People lose all hope and so don't feel that they can even try. Being a beggar is a horrible life, and no-one chooses it just to be lazy.
If you help one beggar then you have helped one person who is in trouble. You can't help the whole world, but you can make the world a little bit better by helping a small part of it. Maybe you have no real effect, but you've only lost the price of a chocolate bar!
If you give a beggar some money he might spend it on alcohol or drugs, but you don't know that. He might use it to buy some food because he's hungry, or to pay for a night sleeping in a bed rather than the street. I would rather think the best of everyone that I meet, rather than be suspicious of everyone. I think that the world would be much better if everyone thought the same.
What risk is there in giving money to a beggar? You've lost a small amount of money. Maybe you helped someone a lot. Maybe you didn't help them at all. In the end, you aren't risking much. Maybe you feel like you would be cheated somehow if they get that money from you, but it doesn't matter! Why be so scared of being cheated a tiny amount?
I hope that you see my point of view, and that my English wasn't too hard to understand!
when I was writting this diary, I have realized that it would be partial if I just say "we
should't give money to beggars". As to those who have disabilities, we have the moral
duty to help them.In every aspect ,Tealeaf, your opinions are more comprehensive and
human. The world would be much better if everyone shares his love with each other..
