私はエールに入学を許可しました！入学の手紙を読んだ時に、しんじりません。
I was admitted into Yale University! When I read my admittance letter, I didn't believe it.
私はこれを間違いだと思いました。
I thought it was a mistake.
でも、何度も入学の手紙を読んだ後、私はそれが間違くないをしんじりました。
But, after reading my admittance letter many times, I knew that it was not a mistake.
私はとってもこうふんしています！ 日本語と美術を先行するつもりです。
I'm so excited! I plan to major in Japanese and art.
そして、日本でりょう学をします。
Also, I plan to study abroad in Japan. :)

日本語と美術を先行専攻（せんこう another Kanji）するつもりです。
そして、日本でにりょう学留学(りゅうがく)をします。

エール大学! （note）Japanese people often write "Yale University" as "イェール大学". Of course, there are a lot of people who write "エール大学" :)
私はエールに入学を許可されました（or イェール大学に合格しました）！
合格通知を読んだ時、しんじられませんでした。
最初、私はこれは間違いだと思いました。
でも、何度も合格通知を読んだ後、私はそれが間違いではないことがわかりました。
日本語と美術を専攻するつもりです。
そして、日本へ留学をします。
I'm looking forward to going to Yale! I still don't quite believe that I got in. xD There will be a few Japanese students there, so I plan to make friends with them and practice my Japanese. :)
For example,
"イェール大学は私の入学を許可します" means "Yale admits me to get in."
"私はイェール大学に入学を許可されます" means "I am admitted into Yale".
:)
I do have another question though. Sometimes, I'm not sure whether or not to use formal or informal speech when talking to people. For example, when I speak to you, would it be impolite to use informal speech? Like, instead of "分かります" saying "わかった." You are older than me, so I always use formal speech, but since we are friends, should I be using informal speech?
Also, when I speak to some of the exchange students from Japan, when I first meet them, should I use formal or informal speech? I don't want to offend anyone, but I don't want to seem too formal either.
When you speak to some of the exchange students from Japan, when you first meet them, it's better to use formal speech, like "はじめまして、ヴィッキーです。お友達になりませんか。（Nice to meet you, I'm Vicky. Could you please become friends!）". After becoming friends, soon it's good to ask them "Which is better to use, formal speech or informal speech?" When they say "informal!," it's better for you to use informal speech, and when they say "formal," it's better for you to use formal speech. I guess most of students prefer informal speech to formal speech, so they answer "informal!" :D
Of course, in daily lives Japanese people usually use formal speech except when they talk to friends and families, so it's really important to study formal speech hard :)
