I'm writing a comment to post on https://picasaweb.google.com/dangorou/. The reason is I'm using some of his (or her) images as reference for my own website, lltvg.com (Learning Languages Through Video Games), so I thought I'd tell him this in order to thank him. This is what I'm writing to him; I thought I would show it to you guys to make sure it is correct. (I know the Japanese does not perfectly match the English, but it is the best approximation that I can manage.)

はじめまして。僕/私は「Learning Languages Through Video Games」(ビデオゲームで言語を習いましょう)というサイトを運営しているfurrykefと申します。
ご存じないとは思いますが、このサイトでdangorouさんの絵を使わせていただき、大変に助かっています。今日はこのことをお伝えしたくてメールしました。

「Learning Languages Through Video Games」(ビデオゲームで言語を習いましょう)というサイトのためにでdangorouさんの絵を使っています。 In Japanese, 〜ために is more used to mean like "to make you glad" , "to make you happy" or "to make something helpful for you" often.
dangorouさんは知らないで僕を大変に助けましたよ。→ dangorouさんの絵のお世話になってきました。もっとも、dangorouさんはご存知なかったと思いますけどね。^_~ as "You have been helping me with your pictures, although I think that you haven't known that."
furrykefさんのウェブサイトは、私が英語を学ぶのに役立ってくれそうです。私も、同じゲームを遊んできたからです。ゲームで使われる英語を学ぶことができて、うれしいです。
In the situation the sentence has, 「サイトのためにdangorouさんの絵を使っています」 is usually regarded as posting the pictures on your website. Especially, 使っています is emphasizing it.
Sorry but I don't know what you mean with "using some of his (or her) images as reference for my own website".
In that case, I think that "ゲームで使われているテキストを英語に翻訳するために、daigorouさんの絵を参考にしまいます" would be better.
It means as "I'm referring to your images in order to translate Japanese texts in TV games into English".
