My senior has finished making an animation movie.
The scene of the work is in Japan in Edo era. Cute characters are animated comically.
I recommend you to watch it now if you like Japanese animation!!

metheglin, I'm very impressed! I submitted my comments and and will hopefully get a response. Well, I'll just ask you a few here. What is the meaning behind Mokichi shaking his finger up in the air / towards the gods? While he is eating his rice in the dark, he also recalls the disgrace he felt when his fellow ash-buyer friends accumulated new electrical appliances. Disapproval and shame encourages him to carry on with his traditional trade the next day.

Wao!! Thank you for watching it!!
It's not my work, but I'll tell this animator your response!!

>>What is the meaning behind Mokichi shaking his finger up in the air / towards the gods?
I don't know the meaning because it isn't my work. But I think it shows Mokichi's conflict. He was suffering for whether he should push the rice cooker button or not, and his finger shook.

By the way, you realized that Mokichi was eating rice in the dark, didn't you?
People who don't eat rice seem not to understand the scene because the sound is rarely heard. On the other hand, Japanese seem to understand it well.
It's interesting difference between cultures, I think!

'encourage him.. '

Yes, that was one of my favorite scenes because it focused on the sound. I also loved the sound effects at the beginning when the crowd was impressed by the electrical appliances.

:D
