餃子を揚げるの冒険

先月、誕生日プレゼントとして、友達に揚げ鍋を頂きました。
私は餃子が大好きなので、友達のマークさんは家で揚げ餃子を揚げようと思ったらしいです。（私たちはもうフライパンで焼き餃子を炒めたことがあります。）

"最初の試み"
----
大豆油で揚げてみました。揚げて過ぎましたので、餃子を焼いてしまった。そして、大豆油は変な味が餃子に残っていました。

２回目の試み
----
ごま油で揚げてみました。(高い温度で揚げられる特別なごま油でした。）
今度はうまくいきました！うまかったんですが、揚げ鍋で揚げるのはやはり難しいね。
これから、現地の「招き猫」を頼んでいます。

Last month, as a present, my roommates gave me a deep fryer. I love gyouza, so my friend Mark thought we could try making them at home. (We've made them before, at home, in a frying pan.)
-First attempt-
We tried using soybean oil. We overcooked them, and they were pretty burned. Also, the soybean oil left a weird aftertaste in the gyouza.
-Second attempt-
We used sesame oil (a special sesame oil designed for high-temperature frying). This time they turned out well! They were delicious, but deep frying is a pain. From now on, I'll be relying on the nearby "Maneki Neko." (One of my favorite restaurants).
