Hi everyone!
How was your happy new year's day?

I came back to Japan in Christmas day
and now I'm living in Japan and speaking Japanese all day haha

here is much colder than where I lived in U.S!
I didn't expect that I need to wear warm clothes even I'm in house
I'm shivering like a Chiwauwa every morning haha

Me and My family spend a new year in Hakone
my family is going to Hakone shrine every year for Hatsumoude
and pray for making a wish such as family health or anything.
(初詣(hatsumoude) is the first shrine visit of the New Year in Japan.)

but to me, main part of Hatsumoude is Omikuji!!
"Omikuji" is known as paper fortunes.
They are sold at shrines(basically 100 yen or 200 yen)
and are tied onto the branches of nearby trees after being read by people, in hopes that a good fortune will come true and that a bad forture will be driven away.

I felt like I can draw 大吉(daikichi-Great bressing)
cause I haven't been trying to draw Omikuji almost 2 years
and maybe my luck was accumlated for 2 years haha

I was standing Omikuji box and putted my hand in that,
closed my eyes and keep mixing omikuji until I feel I wanted to draw
one. I picked one omikuji from box and peeled it slowly.
then I got a daikichi!!

whoooohooooo!!!!

I was so serious
maybe people thought I'm creepy Omikuji mania hahaha

after I tied my omikuji onto the braches
My family went to back to the hotel
It was 5:00am in the morning:p

but I feel this year is going to be the best year in my life

hope you guys have a great new year!

I always thought that you only tied the bad ones to the temple so you can leave them behind. I usually keep my good luck with me whenever I can.
