There is a difference between the ‘honeymoon’ and ‘culture shock’stages. ‘Honeymoon’ is a positive stage. At this stage, a person is excited about the new culture of the host country. You can also feel that everything including seeing new sight, hearing new language, and eating new kinds of food is positive. For example, when I first came to Canada, I felt that the new things in Canada were really interesting. I even liked everything about Canada. On the other hand, ‘culture shock’ is a negative stage. A person who is in this stage has negative feelings about the people and culture of the host county. Moreover, the person may feel a sense of dislocation and unease. For example, when I was in the stage, I complained about everything in Canada. Furthermore, I was lethargic feeling confused. In conclusion, honeymoon stage is quite different from culture shock stage.
