Arus25 : What does global warming mean? (1)

Does it mean something “evil”, likely one of the biggest challenges of modern human history, one of the toughest problems humankind ever faced since it’s on a global scale, its sheer enormity and complexity.

But does global warming mean that the Earth is getting warmer and warmer and yet, what else? Is humankind crying out for the shortage of energy now? Is humankind desperately looking for alternative energy sources? And the Earth’s getting hotter and hotter means that the more and more solar energy is accumulating inside the Earth’s atmosphere. Since we still have not had the technique to get the solar energy directly yet, we could get its varieties and they’re out there, inside our atmosphere: crazy winds, storms, tides, waves, temperature variation ...

I see, the most difficult is that they’re not concentrated enough, the energy is distributed throughout a certain area so it’s not as easy as collect a piece of coal or nuclear material and burn it up. Why do they have to resolve the question about distributed energy by the size of the “power plants” e.g. huge wind turbines… I wonder why it’s so hard to get those kinds of energy. A typical question I often find out there is money. Yes, indeed, the only guy appear to be enough of money and capability is the US. Its government can mobilize all national resources to put some men on the moon ( a glorious, honorable achievement but little scientific meanings), . And more its government can spend hundreds of billions of dollars to wage a war on some unlucky guys in the desert of the Middle East ( another glorious victory that hardly any other nation thinks they dare to do – overthrow a government with it military power ranks 4th in just a few weeks ), but it feels reluctant to spend more money on serious scientific and technical project that possibility change the world.

But anyhow, all kinds of energy on our Earth ( except thermal ones from Earth’s inside) come from the Sun. So, it’ll be very efficient for us to collect energy directly from the Sun. That’ll be our next power supply, the future of humankind depends on a source of energy older than humankind itself, even older than it mother Earth.

Arus25 : Reading... (3)

Last couple of days, I've been reading a famous classical Chinese work "Dream of the Red

Chamber". I had heard about the novel and its author long long time ago, since I was a

child. Quite frankly, I've been trying serveral times to read it but all failed. Perhaps it

was a 18th century work, used classical written language, so it was so tough for me to

comprehend, thus, I had to stop from the first chapter all the time.
Don't know why till now I just could handle it. I still have not read through the work yet

but it was a astonishing novel indeed. It's really a work of artistic merit, really a

worth-reading novel at least with me.
It's a sad story. I'm reading the chapter that it was said to be the among the saddest, it's

really moved. The young girl, the main charaters, her name is Lin Da Yu, after being sick

for a while, still weak but she tried to stroll out for some fresh air. She inadvertently

came into the garden of cherry trees and painfully found that all the flowers were falling,

falling everywhere full on the ground. Feeling so sad for the flower that cause her to

remind to herself. ( as Asian women often be considered flower- beautiful but very sensitive

though). She slowly picked up all the falling flowers, stored them into a bag and prepared

to bury them. Treating them as her old friends and talked to them. The words she talked,

it's a poem. I try to translate here:
"At this moment you die, I collect all of you and bury your body.
But what time when I lose my life, it's hard to predict or say.
Now, I'm burying flower. Everyone will laugh at me and say I'm foolish.
But do you know who would bury me in someday.
Look! Remnants of the glory spring, all the flowers are gradually falling.
Is this the time that a young girl could pass away?
One day the spring of my life passes completely. I'll become old. I'll will put it all

behind, my young adorable appearance, my heart. At that time you will blossom again but I

would have died.
Who will bury you again when you fall and who will bury me like I did for you?"

Arus25 : Shall I? (0)

Start from nowhere, try to be a good child , try to study hard. Come into the university, still try to study hard, hope to be a good citizen, have some first experience about what is life. Graduate from university, find a good job, find a good girl friend, build up a family, have some children, try hard to make more money. Work hard, try hard as much as possible till I can't work any more. Retirement, find a quiet, peaceful place, live the rest days of my life and ...

That's the way most of people around me choose to follow(in the past, at present and perharps in the future still the same). Someone calls it as "dream". Shall I. Shall I choose that way, a pre-programmed process.
But who care at all! Anyway it'll be "one way ticket for a long journey to hell". Who really care!
I'll have to struggle and struggle, do as best as I can. I'll have to live my own life anyway.
Remember the lyrics of a song I have heard somewhere "家乡的茶园开满花". I miss my home town, miss so much my childhood.
Happy New Year everyone.
