Today is cutting New Year's round rice cakes in Japan.
We usually eat "Kagamimochi=round rice cake" displayed in New Year today.
I also ate a round rice cake as "Zenzai".
"Zenzai" is sweet small bean paste soup with rice cake.
This is soooooo sweet!!
But I love it.^0^
This soup fit with Japanese green tea well.

I will go snowbording to Gunma tomorrow.
After I get home, I will write a new diary!

In the future, you can refer to round rice cakes by their Japanese name, mochi. Mochi is a prevalent ingredient, so you can use the word instead of its English translation. You can always put the translation in parentheses if you are unsure.

I have been thinking about making some zenzai. My local Japanese market has tsubu an and koshi an on sale.

Hope you have a good trip. Cheers!

Dear Jala
Thank you for correcting.
If you like sweets, I think that you will like "Zenzai".
My boyfriend nevertheless is Japanese, but he doesn't like it.><
It is unlucky...

Dear medusamolly
Thank you for correcting!
I didn't think that you know "tsubu an" and "koshi an".
If you use tsubu an, this sweet is called "Zenzai".
But if you use koshi an, this sweet is called "Shiruko".
I prefer tsubu an to koshi an.
So I like "Zenzai".^0^

Hi mikkiy!

I fixed my computer (mostly) but I don't have time (^_^;) But! I like tsubu an better, myself. Although I do like sweet things I have to be very VERY careful because I have hypoglycemia! (@o@) So I don't eat too many sweets made with sugar...

Dear Jala
Thank you for your message.
I'm sorry to reply late.
Me, too!! I also have to be careful.><><
I got fat in this New Year.
I might think that I ate many rice cakes...
Rice cakes are also high calorie.

Japanese peoples' "fat" is still a lot smaller than me! *laugh* Bodies are always changing, so don't worry about it. (^_^) Just watch what you eat and you'll be back to normal in no time~~~~
