Last night, my youngest son who is 9years old asked me to sleep together in my bed. Usually he sleeps his bed in his mother's room and I sleep my room by myself. This time he watched a mysterious TV program and felt fear for ghost or something at night. He thought that I should protect him from such a threat! It's OK for me but there was not enough space for my futon that is Japanese style bed. So I had to share my futon with him. I sometimes woke up because he took my comforter. But I'm glad to hear that he could sleep well, and he was safe, ha!
This evening, New Year's party had held in wife's parent’s home. It's about thirty minutes drive from my home. We brought a new year's gift and some meals for the party. 14 people of four families gathered at night and had a good time to talk, drunk, and eat. Six kids got a lot of Otoshidama, New Year's gift money.
The party finished around 10 p.m. My wife drove us to home. On the way home, we saw it snow outside. Nice day today was!

Sounds like you had an enjoyable New Year's. This year, I got to see a Japanese New Year for the first time. It was fun!
