Hello, I'm Tim from Australia. I'm an Australian born Chinese who has a great interest in Japanese. I have studied it for about 5 years both at university and then through self study. I have passed the JLPT level 1 and have now gotten to the level where I am reading novels in my free time. Still I feel that there is still a long way to go as I am always encountering many unknown kanji characters and expressions.

I have a great interest in Japanese Anime and would say that I could qualify as an Otaku as I enjoy collecting anime figures, manga, following the latest trends and recently even venturing into building and painting anime resin model kits. I also enjoy Karate and reading Japanese light novels. Of course, I also enjoy writing a blog in Japanese to practice my composition.

Since I'm a native English speaker l am happy to help correct any mistakes for English learners, and can explain the mistakes in Japanese if needed.

I would love to make some friends with people who share the same interests as me.

初めまして、オーストラリアからのティムともうします。私はオーストラリアに生まれた中国系で日本語に興味を持っています。日本語は5年ぐらい大学と独習で勉強してきました。目的だったの日本語の能力試験1級に受かって、今は小説を読むことでそのレベルを支えようとています。しかし、小説でいつも分からない漢字や表現を見かけるので、もっと頑張らなくてはいけないと思います。

実は、日本語を勉強し始めたきっかけは、日本のアニメのお陰だと思います。アニメは今でも好きで、それが日本語を勉強するモティヴェーションの源となっている気がします。日本のオタクに興味があるので、こちらは立派なオタクになるために頑張っています。(^^;)。

オタクとして、テレビゲームをしたり、アニメのフィギュアを集めたり、漫画を読んだりするようなことはともかく、最近のオタク関係の流行とかをブログでよんで最近、アニメのレジンキットのフィギュアの組み立てと塗装をし始めました。それ以外は、空手を練習して、ライトノベルを読むのも趣味です。それに、もちろん、日本語の作文もブログで書いています。

オーストラリア生まれなので、英語を訂正するのは構いませんし、必要なら、日本語で、様々の文法の違いとかについて説明することにも手伝えます。
