A Prius van you say?... That might have a chance of becoming popular in the US too...

Although, the problem with the current Prius that prevents most people from buying it now is that it's gas savings don't pay for the extra costs associated with the Prius like maintenance and a higher selling price drives away most Americans as it would take 10+ years worth of use before it would pay for itself and most cars don't last past 8 years in many cases before totaling themselves.

In Japan it has a better chance in sales as the Japanese have a better perspective of efficiency whereas in the US its more focused on whats more economical which currently that involves whining about high gas prices and buying cheap but inefficient cars.

Honestly I'd rather live in a world where I didn't even need a car, I mean for one I suck at driving and the other thing is it would be nice not needing to pay for such an expensive object.

@derek
I don't know how expensive to keep a echo-car.
As you say, We don't need to use a car for the earth.
