Lunch mate syndorome

We often called people a “lunch mate syndrome” who feel embarrassed to be alone in the presences of someone when they eating. Surprisingly, it is widely noticed in Japan that there are college students who eat lunch in restroom. They would prefer enduring the smell of a restroom to eating lunch in the presence of strangers because restroom is the last place for the student to escape from the public eye and to protect themselves. I can never want to do it but their feelings are understandable.
