I first went to New Zealand when I was 17 years old.
I was really surprised how different it compared to Tokyo, Japan.
There have been so many building and people in Japan, and population and the numbers of buildings are getting more and more.
There are lots of natures in NZ and I really love it.
I want to live there one day since when I was 17 years old.
Last year my friends who I met in NZ when I was 17 came to Japan.
We talked about lots of thing and I said I wanted to live there.
One of my friends said, come to NZ and live, if you want, why you don't do it?
It's not so easy to live in another country for Japanese but his word was right, if I really want to live there, why I don't try to do it??
His word was simple but I was really affected.

or should I remove ed in this sentence?

The -ed is necessary, hahah.
But, you don't have to say "one day," because "since I was 17" already includes that meaning. So...
I've wanted to live there ever since when I was 17 years old.
