Japanese Food
Now, that I have holidays and many free time, I decided to cook some japanese dishes.
My friends want to have Onigiri. And -luckily- I have sushi rice at home. But I don't know if I have to cook it in any special way... Actually I don't want to put too much effort in it, because I'm very unskilled in cooking^^
So if you know an easy way to cook the rice correctly, I'd be very happy if you tell me.
I'm also thinking about making an Udon soup ( My cookbook calls it Tsukimi Udon). With spinach, egg, chicken and shiitake. But the recipe says I have to poach the eggs...well I've never heard of that^^ But if I don't wangle it, I'' just make fried egg. It looks very similar.
But before I can cook it I have to buy Mirin and instant-dashi (You see I'm very lazy^^), I hope I find it in our Asia-shop...but I guess it will be a little bit expensive... But what wouldn't I do to make my life a little bit more Japanese^^
Maybe I'll tell you how it was...But only if I won't destroy the kitchen^^
